During the school summer holidays of July and August, thousands and thousands of travellers are jetting off to sunnier climes. One of the most popular times of the year to go on holiday. This major boom causes for higher holiday prices so picking a holiday can often be a big decision. People are travelling all over the world from sunny Florida, the dynamic Caribbean the familiar shores of Europe. Self drive holidays to France are very popular this time of year, lavishing in your own private farm house in amazing! BBQs and cocktails on your very own terrace, beautiful surroundings and the chance to visit great vineyards, delightful beaches and enchanting towns. The Bordeaux region is one of the best!
For a family holiday the Mediterranean beaches of Europe are just a stones throw away from the UK, short flights and fantastic deals on accommodation mean these destinations are great for families. Low cost airlines fly into regional airports too rather than the main cities, meaning that transfers are shorter at either end. Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria all offer beautiful beaches and great value for money on food and drink! Whilst Cyprus oozes elegance, Paphos has many luxury hotels and a great bar street, as well as popular family restaurants like McDonalds and Pizza Express. Protaras and Limassol are lively beach resorts as well! With waterparks, Go-karts and much more to keep you busy. There is almost as many Greek islands as there are days of the year, with plenty of choice you can have the holiday you want, whether its clubbing in Kos or sunbathing in Crete. Ibiza and the other Balearic Islands are lovely during August to, hot, hot temperatures, lovely swimming conditions and gorgeous restaurants. As well as the famous nightlife on these islands.
For walkers, the almost deserted Alps open up for tranquil, peaceful holidays. Also a haven for BMX riders and those for the ultimate is peace and quiet. For the really keen skiers the glaciers of Tignes and Saas Fee are still operating and great for getting in a little extra! Lake holidays in Andalucia and Italy´s Lake Como give off a more exclusive holiday feel. Away from the hustle and bustle of the large resorts, dropped in absolute tranquillity and lush surroundings. People watching is always a fun past time in Lake Como, recently it has been one of the chosen places for celebrities to holiday!
