Following the immense success of Disneyland, California and Disney World, Florida, it became only natural to build a Disney Park in Europe. The Lure of Paris beat two Spanish options and a second French option when it came to deciding on a location - and so in 1992 Euro Disney was opened. In 1994 the park became known as Euro Disneyland Paris, in 1995 it later became Disneyland Paris. In 2002, after the opening of the second park - Disney Studios. The entire resort became known as Disneyland® Paris. The first park is now known as simply the Disneyland® Park. The change from Euro Disney to Disneyland® Paris was a marketing marvel to uplift the parks reputation... and yes, it worked wonders.
