Holidays in December are very popular for families. With the Christmas School holidays falling at the end of the month and annual leave for most workers to, they are a great time for people to getaway. Leaving the dank shores of Britain to warmer climes is becoming more and more popular at this time of year. Many people chose to take a holiday before Christmas to wind down after hectic shopping and making sure everything is ready! Some families are even choosing to spend Christmas Day abroad. Tropical locations like Florida, the Caribbean and Central America are great over Christmas. Hot temperatures and sun kissed beaches are just two great reasons to take holidays here. A family holiday in Florida is perfect for little ones, a Disney Christmas is the ultimate magic. The big islands in the Caribbean are great for city breaks as well as BBQs on the beach. Cuba and Jamaica have great Christmas parades, as well as plenty of things to see and do. The smaller islands in the Caribbean cannot be beaten on their dynamic ways of spending Christmas either! Festivals on the beaches and lively outdoor restaurants are definitely the place to be. The New Years Eve celebrations are always better on holiday, guaranteed parties in most bars and clubs, without the extortionate ticket prices at home! For a great New Years Eve a trip up to Edinburgh for the Hogmanay celebrations are unrivalled.
Visits to the always popular Spanish Costas are the perfect peaceful getaway during December. Feeling empty compared to the crowded beaches your mind conjures up for the summer months. Yet with plenty of fun party opportunities, things to do and great things to see. The Costa Del Sol has plenty of great hotels, lots of bars and even more restaurants. A world renowned family resort, with low cost airlines regularly landing in Malaga to, getting there is hassle free! For a cheap trip to the sun the many resorts on the Red Sea boast the absolute in luxury, chic hotels and to die for beaches! Sharm el Sheikh is the big boy on the block but Hurghada and Israel´s Eliat are worth checking out as well. The Canary Islands, Cyprus and Croatia are firm winter favourites. Warm climates and great entertainments are very much at home and winter holidays are a must!
The USA is another great holiday destination right before Christmas. New York is unrivalled for shopping and with great duty free prices and the exchange rate on your side you can get in all those extra special Christmas presents whilst enjoying the sights and the festivities too! Heading over to Los Angeles is a great idea as well, less pricy than the summer but with warm weather and more than you could ask for entertainment and shopping wise! For those after a white Christmas, the ski season is a few weeks in and Christmas is in full swing. This is a great time for family holidays and those combining a hobby with getting away from it all. Val D´isere, Meribel, Lap Land and St Moritz are the best places for Christmas! A holiday in Lap Land is great if you want to deliver your list to Santa himself, or for those chasing the magic of Christmas. Husky rides, skiing and Ice bars are just some of the few great things about this resort.
