January Holidays
After all the Christmas decorations come down at the feeling of the holiday warmth is long gone you know its time to take a holiday again. Winter warmers, perhaps a winter sports holiday or city break take your fancy. Most people forget that the tropical and southern hemisphere destinations are experiencing their dry season; January is an ideal time to visit. A great chance to visit tropical countries, and a great excuse to do so too. January is also a great time to travel, as it is out of peak season, late deals, last minute bargains and generally cheaper deals are always available. Being just outside of the school holidays as well gives you an even better excuse to hit the beaches. Lying virtually deserted you will feel like you´re on your own paradise island. With the holiday resorts a little more empty the pace of life is so much more relaxed, it almost gives you the feeling you have all the time in world! Croatia and Italy are the most fashionable places for people watching right now! These chic resorts are great value at this time of year too.
Great places to visit during January are the many European cities. A great way to spend a couple of days and a nice break from the boring British winters. With the Spanish cities of Murcia, Seville, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid, all boasting their own unique character, enjoying mild winters it is a perfect time for some all essential sightseeing and shopping. Paris, Lyon and Berlin are also great, family friendly cities at this time of year. Enjoying mild winters, Mediterranean Europe is a haven for sports and tennis lovers. Offering superb conditions and the best surroundings – Cyprus is a great place to go for golf. Without the summer boom as well it feels like a different world. The Canary Islands and the many resorts along the Red Sea – notably Sharm el Sheikh offer year round sun. A great way to top up that nearly gone sun tan from the summer. A winter retreat to Russia is fabulous this time of year, cold enough to wear all the gear fashionably, yet warm enough to be able to explore and enjoy. The Caribbean is always a holiday hotspot during the winter months, during January temperatures are about 27 degrees Celsius, great for warming those fingers and toes! Generally cheaper and a lot less busy. The perfect time for some well deserved RnR after Christmas. Sipping cocktails from your veranda, diving into the pools of waterfalls of simply feasting on a roti. Mexico and Brazil offer great food, sightseeing and things to do. With cheaper price tags than the summer months this is an ideal to visit! Cultural experiences in Mexico´s wonderful Chichen Itza region are just the beginning of your adventures! The hip ski resorts of Europe and Canada are also in full swing. With great snow conditions and short lift queues there is no excuse! The middle East and Dubai are also at a much more comfortable temperature for the summer, by far the best place for picking up the best of tax free shopping. For trips further afield Australia is at its best.
