One of the best things to do on the island – what ever age, shape or size is to take the charming cable car to the mountain top village of Monte, then slide back down to Funchal on a wicker toboggan! For food, Madeira is typical of an island and has superb sea food delicacies. Yet many other cuisines are available to for fussy eaters. Madeira wine is of course the local tipple.
