One of the smallest nations in the world, located on a string of islands in the glorious Mediterranean Sea is that of Malta, officially known as the Republic of Malta. Mellieha is a very popular resort with families, the safe coastline makes the beaches great for kids, and parents alike knowing that their little ones are safe. The holiday island of year round sun is also relatively unrivalled when it comes to snorkelling and diving, other water sports are also widely available. The local towns of the islands are definitely worth a look in to, with some of the best meals on offer and a really great way to try the local delicacies. Gozo and Comino are great for days out or a couple of days away from the main land. Offering endless stretches of unspoilt beaches, calm seas and soulful walks. You can really go back to nature on these islands and take in all things Mediterranean. A group of islands that are so steeped in history have got to be enjoyed, being relatively small to you won´t have to worry about distances. In fact the island is only 30km from one end to the other.
