The northern "automobile" city of Turin is located in northern Italy, the capital of the Piedmont region is a major city for both business and culture. Originally thought of as "just" an industrial town, until the city became the host of the 2006 winter Olympics. From then on tourists flocked to the region and it has fast become a holiday hotspot, with a large population of over 2million people, this city has a lot to offer. Unique churches are sprinkled all over the city too – a great insight into the rulings of the city, the different architectures are noting but wonderful! Turin Chocolates, Italian delicacies and the delights of the Savoy region are all worth a try too! For shopoholics head straight to the Via Roma, for the best of the designer stores. Summer is definitely the best time to visit Turin – with warmer temperatures than the winter months. Turin has a continental climate and the colder months can fall below freezing.
