Montpellier is France’s eighth largest city, this historical university town has recently been transformed into a thriving modern city. The new Corum Conference centre and Music Hall have really put Montpellier on the map. The new quarter near Place de la Comedie is one of the many reasons to take holiday to Montpellier. Visit the 17th century Arc de Triumph and the Cevennes National Park too for great days out. The Jardin de Plantes is one of Europe’s oldest and best botanical gardens, just minutes away from the city. The stunning beaches of the Mediterranean are also within easy access – take the tramline, cheap and easy. Look out for the pink flamingos!
