Toulon is located in the South of France along the Mediterranean coastline. The capital of the Var department and a large military base. There is now a beautiful memorial and museum open in Toulon devoted to those who fought for the area in the Second World War – well worth a visit when on holiday to this historical city. Toulon is now an important city of naval construction, wine, fishing and manufacture of aeronautical equipment. Toulon is also an unknown beach paradise, the shores of Mourillon are a definite favourite for tourists and locals alike.
