• 1-star, 2-star, & 3-star hotels – €2 per person per night
• B&Bs/apartment rentals – €2 per person per night
• Campsites – €1 per person per night
• Hostels – €0

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE ROME HOTEL TAX

• As noted, it’s per person per night – so if you staying for 3 nts, in a 4 Star hotel , you will need to pay to the hotel €18 for 2 people etc..
• There is a maximum number of days visitors can be taxed. For campsites, it’s a maximum of 5 days, and for all other accommodation options listed above it’s a maximum of 10 days.
• Children under the age of two are exempt.
• This new tax is in addition to the VAT which is already included on hotels and other accommodation rates throughout Italy.
