From the Merenid Tombs on the hillside you can get a fantastic view of the city, and the Boujeloud Gardens are a great retreat for those seeking a relaxing open space for sitting outside a café, or picnicking together with the family.

Fez also presents a real treat for birdwatchers. In the evenings the skies are full of alpine swifts looking for insects to feed to their chicks safely perched in nests on the city walls.
