  • Amazing!

This was truly an amazing 4 days. I felt like a princess. The hotel was so grand and lovely. The staff was amazing, very nice and polite. The location - couldn't have been better. It was right next to the opera house and all the attractions were a walking distance away. There were many great restaurants nearby. We didn't have to use transportation even once during our stay. The bedroom was very nice and clean. The breakfast in the morning was lovely. Definitely recommended.

Treat yourself to a city break in the romantic metropolis of Vienna and discover the Austrian capital in style by staying at the opulent 5-star Grand Hotel Wien. A classically elegant building dating back almost 150 years, the hotel offers a deluxe holiday base in the centre of the city, where comfort, wellness and aesthetic beauty are the core tenets of its overall ethos. In addition to your spacious and stylish room, you can also enjoy some of the luxurious facilities that abound within the hotel. Spend ample time in the Grand Spa No605, situated on the 6th floor of the building. With 200 sq metres of wellness, you’ll find plenty of ways to pursue complete relaxation, including a sauna, a hammam, a fully-equipped gym as well as rooms for massage and beauty treatments, making this is a veritable oasis in the middle of Vienna’s urban bustle. Next, head to the 7th floor where your taste buds can be pampered with delicious gourmet treats in the Michelin-star Le Ciel by Toni Mörwald Restaurant, best served on the roof terrace where panoramic views of Vienna form the perfect backdrop for your meal. The Grand Hotel Wien furthermore offers four other restaurants with local and international cuisine, two bars and of course the perfect location from which you can explore the surrounding city. The Vienna State Opera, St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Heldenplatz and the trendy Kärntner Strasse are all within walking distance of the hotel, while nearby tram stations will let you access the further reaches of the city with ease.

With its baroque cityscape, countless cultural sights, museums, castles and delightful local delicacies, Vienna is one of Europe’s top destinations for a wonderful getaway for couples, friends and solo travellers alike. The transport system of the city makes it easy to get around and a stay in the centre of the Austrian capital places you within easy reach of some of its main spots.

Visit the Kunsthistorischen Museum to marvel at the collection of Bruegel’s paintings, or the beautiful Baroque Belvedere Palace, an attraction in itself, which is home to the world’s largest collection of artwork by the local Symbolist painter, Gustav Klimt. Shopping enthusiasts should head to the Mariahilfer Strasse, where a fleet of department flagship stores can be frequented, while those interested in the history and culture of the city should head to the centre of Vienna, where the majestic St Stephen Cathedral, the State Opera and lots of cool galleries, museums and bars await.  Meander the streets where Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn once roamed before exploring the Schloss Schönbrunn, Vienna’s former imperial residence, complete with its own zoo, luxurious gardens, and glorious monuments. As the evening descends on the beautiful blue Danube River, head to one of the city’s top-class restaurants where delicious local treats can be sampled. A stay in Vienna is a holiday where all the senses are cared for.
