Reviews

  • Stunning

The Therasia Resort is an absolute gem. Our ocean front room and balcony was out of this world and could not have asked for anything more. The restaurant and staff were superb and the food was amazing. The forever pool was truly amazing overlooking the beautiful sights of the other islands.

  • Lovely place!

We spent three nights in this lovely place just before it closed for the season. The views from the resort are breathtaking - a negative edge pool overlooking the most stunning sea view. The landscaping is also lovely with cacti and succulents. We found the staff to be most friendly and attentive even though they were also leaving because the resort was closing for the season. We had a fabulous sea facing room with balcony which no doubt added to our overall pleasure! The frequent shuttles to/from town were also a big plus. I would easily stay here again!

  • Pure luxury

A wonderful holiday all ways round. Superb location, unobtrusive yet professional staff always there to make you feel special. A long journey to get there...but well worth it. Other residents were friendly too although there were so many places to be private around the grounds. The wellness centre was a special treat after the heat and we used it daily. Would definitely go again...

Therasia Thermal Spa Resort

Therasia Thermal Spa Resort

The top-ranked Therasia Resort Sea & Spa is perched on the black rocks of the cliff of Vulcanello, on the northern coast of Vulcano Island, which overlooks the vast Tyrrhenian Sea. Designed in an elegant style where a focus has been placed on incorporating local materials such as lava stone, cotto tiles, as well as cedar and olive wood, the resort splendidly echoes the surrounding natural beauty of the island.  Here you can enjoy the spacious and smart rooms, dine in one of the three magnificent restaurants, as well as book relaxing treatments at the resort’s very own spa. From the large solarium, the two bars or indeed the two infinity pools, you can gaze across the seemingly endless seascape while sipping a refreshing drink. You can also follow the private path down to the coast, where you can take a dip in the azure waves.

With lots of nearby beaches, as well as the centre of the island only a kilometre away, it is easy to explore Vulcano Island further, as well as visiting other islands like Lipari and Stromboli. This makes the resort the perfect destination, whether you are seeking pure relaxation, lots of activities and tours, or a delightful combination of both.

Vulcano Island

The southernmost of the Aeolian Islands, Vulcano Island was forged in fire and lava at the beginning of time. Today its northern coastline is home to a number of luxurious resorts, from where you can enjoy the beaches, go trekking in the volcanic landscape and explore the coastline by boat tours or on ferries going to and from the other islands.

The island is home to unique geological sites that are all within easy reach from the resorts situated around the northern peninsula of Vulcanello. The steaming volcano is the island’s most obvious attraction and treks to the Fosso or the Gran Cratere, will take you further into this otherworldly landscape. At the foot of steep hillsides sits the local harbour. Here you’ll find the narrow isthmus with its black beaches leading to Vulcanello, as well as the island’s famous mud baths, knowns as Laghetto di Fanghi. The mud is believed to have therapeutic powers, and although the sulphuric fumes may not be the most welcoming aroma, a dip in the baths, warmed by hot natural springs, is a truly refreshing experience.
