Holidays to Costa Del Sol
Information about Costa del Sol

With its unique microclimate, beautiful beaches, and all year-round sunshine, the Costa del Sol is the world Mecca for holidaymakers. Sparkling blue waters glisten in the sun as boats and yachts pull out of the many marinas dotted across this expansive coastal region. From Malaga province in the east, to the cusp of Cadiz province in the west, the Costa del Sol, which literally means, “sunny coast,” is southern Spain’s unique autonomous community. Its white-washed villages have become a delightful attraction for those looking for a flavour of authentic Andalucian life, while popular coastal towns such as Marbella and Puerto Banus, have become extremely popular destinations for great entertainment. Formerly comprised of fishing villages, mass tourism has transformed the Costa del Sol into a top tourist destination, with the typical Costa del Sol beach party providing a pulsating nightlife, plenty of water sports during the day, and fantastic beaches to bask in the sun. An ideal destination for a last minute holiday.

Costa del Sol Culture

Experience the authentic Andalucian culture and take a trip into towns as Ronda, Monda, Coin, Guarro, and Ojen – each a tourist attraction in itself. Take a seat at one of the sumptuous tapas bars and experience the local cuisine, including tasty treats such as bocarones (deep fried sardines), champinones con ojo (mushrooms in garlic), gambas (prawns in garlic), patatas bravas (potatoes in a spicy tomato sauce) and plenty more. Food forms a potent element of the culture, and once you’ve washed your tapas down with a glass of sangria in the company of friends and family, you’ll suddenly discover it’s easy enough to slip into the Spanish way of life! The music of Andalucia is the music of flamenco, and since Andalucia is also the birthplace of many a famed flamenco dancer and singer, places such as the Teatro Cervantes in Malaga often stage shows featuring top stars of the flamenco scene. Andalucian culture is easy-going and laid back – it doesn’t take long to adapt to the Spanish love for food, siestas, and parties late into the night.
