It’s worth noting however that most of these holiday packages exclude scuba-diving so you may want to pre-book a cheap hotel and a diving course or package separately, which you can do through online travel websites.
Independent travellers can choose from a vast range of Hurghada hotels, from five-star luxury through to budget accommodation. Many of the luxury hotels are located in El Gouna, a resort some 25km from the centre of Hurghada which has a marina, 18-hole golf course, as well as luxury hotels and restaurants. Other popular places to stay in Hurghada include Soma Bay (a resort approximately 45km away, where many of the more upmarket hotel chains in Hurghada are situated, including the Hyatt Regency, Inter-Continental and Sheraton), Sahl Hasheesh (20 km from Hurghada airport) and Makadi Bay (35 km south of Hurghada and close to some of the best dive spots). Cheap hotels in Hurghada are generally of a good standard as there is plenty of competition amongst the major hotel operators.
There are three Hilton hotels in Hurghada, all of which have a private beach, but the Hilton Hurghada Long Beach Resort (sometimes called the Hilton Long Beach Hurghada) is popular with families due to its kids’ club and seven swimming pools. Other popular choices include the all-inclusive Coral Sea Hurghada, a 4 - 5 star hotel with family rooms situated 15km from the centre of Hurghada.

It’s easy to find cheap flights to Hurghada. Hurghada International Airport has scheduled flights to and from Cairo, and direct connections to London Gatwick (a five hour flight) and several UK regional airports. If you can travel out of season you’ll find it easy to book cheap flight tickets.

Hurghada Weather

The weather in Hurghada is sunny and hot all year round. June, July, and August are the hottest months, with temperatures of around 41°C and no rainfall.
