"The most beautiful hotel"
***** Written on: 08/07/2013
"I booked a three day mini break with my husband in Morroco with fleetway in July 2013 , it was a country we always wanted to go to and experience first as adults before we thought about bringing the children.
The hotel we stayed in was The Taj Palace, it has to be the most beautifully hotel I have stated in . The hotel was opulent and luxurious . Our bedroom which was situated in the Riad was huge , with a balcony that looked out onto the Atlas Mountains a pleasure to sit out there and soak up the view with a morning coffee .
In our package from fleetway we where offerd a trip to the Majorelle gardens , this was more than just the gardens, we went into the souks and right into the old medina , with a very good female guide who was full of local knowledge. This was fantastic and much more than we where expecting.
We ate in the hotel every night seeing as we only had three nights away and after having a busy day it was lovely coming back to the oasis of calm. The hotel is a taxi ride away from the centre of Marrakech , some people might see this as a problem however for us it was fine and if we had had longer we would of gone into Marrakech to eat out. The resturants in the Taj are wonderfull a little expensive but woth the treat . We ate traditional morrocan dishes such aslchicken and lemon tagine also very good Indian cuisine. We dinned in both resturants and had wonderfull food each evening.
All the staff are charming and go out of there way to be helpfull and attentive without being over bearing. We had a great time and would rush back to the Taj Palace tommorow given the opportunity."

Marrakech

The city of Marrakech in Southern Morocco has been said to symbolise the country as a whole. As a vibrant and colourful centre for culture and entertainment, Marrakech is renowned for its wonderful climate, arts, gardens, ornate palaces, bustling souks (markets), and lively festivals. For those in search of the 'real' Morocco, this is the place to come.

Nestling at the foot of the High Atlas mountains, within ancient city walls, surrounded by look-out towers and ramparts, Marrakech comprises a densely packed maze of narrow streets and alleyways. Djemaa el-Fna Square lies at the heart of the city, and where the Berber tribespeople come to sell their wares, and storytellers, acrobats, and entertainers attract the crowds.

An exotic destination
Part Berber, part Arab, part African, Marrakech is the heartbeat of Morocco, where palaces and mountains of unrivalled renement sit alongside the snake charmers and Gnaoua drums pulsing constantly from the Jemaa el Fna Square - the most exuberant marketplace in the world. Known as "e Red Cit" for its rose hued facades and medina walls, this exotic destination has much to oer to the discerning traveller.

Morocco

This vibrant African nation has something to please everyone, from an exotic culture with Arabic, French and Spanish influences to camel rides and traditional Berber villages. Choose a colourful carpet at Agadir's souk and find your way along ancient alleyways to the heart of magical Marrakech, or see the ancient Roman city of Volubilis and approach Taroudant's pink-hued city walls across the sands of the Sahara. Sample the culture and see the sights then relax on Agadir's golden sands.

To imbibe the spirit of Morocco, wander the streets of the great cities. Fés - the ancient capital - has a stunning array of medieval buildings, while Marrakech compels attention, its world-famous souk selling a bewildering array of goods; both hark back to the Arab dynasties that ruled the country from the Muslim conquest.
Morocco's charm lies in its diversity. For sun-worshippers, there are miles of beaches, while inland lies Berber country where, among the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, the energetic can walk or trek. Beyond the Atlas are the fringes of the Sahara, where the caravans once stopped on their way south to trade in spice and ivory. Whether scaling distant ridges, idling by the sea, haggling for exotic artifacts, gazing at ancient wonders or marvelling at the pink and indigo of a desert dawn, you will be mesmerised.
Morocco is located on the westernmost tip of north Africa, bordering Algeria to the east and Mauritania to the south and southeast, the Atlantic ocean to the west and the Mediterranean to the north. Running through the middle of the country is the Atlas mountain range, which leads to the fertile plains and sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast.
