Atlantis, located on Paradise Island, is a magnificent resort with extensive facilities and the world’s largest open-air aquarium. Sharks, stingrays, spiny lobster, bonefish, turtles and colourful tropical fish are just some of the exotic sea animals on view through the panoramic windows of this 34-acre waterscape.

Wander an elaborate maze of corridors and caves of the ‘Dig’ that will take you back over 11,000 years to the ancient city streets of Atlantis. Surrounding you all the while is a stunning civilisation of sea creatures including piranha, green eel and moon jellies, who protect the legendary culture’s sunken secrets. Above ground eleven swimming areas cater to every whim including children’s pools and the 7-acre protected Paradise Lagoon, a great location for snorkelling and kayaking. A wealth of sporting facilities are available to keep the more active guests busy whilst a luxury spa with a full array of sumptuous treatments tempts those yearning for a more pampering experience.

In the evening dine in one of the 20 restaurants located throughout the resort. Our favourites include the Five Twins, which serves exotic, Asian-influenced cuisine in a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere, or the gourmet Fathoms restaurant where you can enjoy superb freshly prepared seafood in a stunning setting featuring panoramic windows offering views of the underwater ruins.

With 2337 rooms and suites with balconies located in three towers; Beach Tower – terrace and water view (3 star), Coral Towers – terrace and water view (4 star) and Royal Towers – terrace, harbour and water views (5 star). All rooms include seating area, mini-bar, satellite TV, iron, hairdryer and in room safe. The Beach Tower rooms are decorated in tropical colours with an island theme and include a king size bed or two double beds. The Coral Tower rooms are decorated in soft Bahamian colours with ocean motif and also have either a king size bed or two double beds. The Royal Tower rooms are elegantly appointed in a contemporary theme and include a king-size bed or two queen-size beds.

The Royal Towers Imperial Club rooms have mesmerising views over the harbour, waterscape, ocean or marina and offer guests the finest VIP treatment, including an upgraded concierge service and amenities such as daily newspapers and magazines as well as private access via high-speed lifts. Guests have exclusive use of the Club lounge, which features a library and offers complimentary food preparations throughout the day.

The hotel features 20 restaurants varying in price and style with a global selection of cuisine, 16 bars, 11 swimming areas (including 2 children’s pools), and 11 giant lagoons and aquariums of which the “Labyrinth” and “The Dig” hold more than 50,000 marine animals. The most daring guests will enjoy the thrill of the Mayan Temple’s 5 waterslides. There is also a 50,000 sq ft casino, a sports centre including 10 tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a lap pool and an 18 hole putting course. Atlantis also boasts a luxury spa, a designer shopping mall and a children’s club sponsored by the Discovery Channel catering for children aged 5-12.
