Located just 5
miles south of St. George, the Calabash sits on eight acres
of tropical gardens, facing a fine beach with lots of shade
trees, in a natural cove called Prickley Bay, where swimming
is particularly safe for all ages. Snorkelling activities are
not the strong suit, although it can be done.
Thirty suites, set in a horseshoe leading down to the beach,
all have garden and sea views. The suites are grouped four to
a cluster, two up and two down. Eight of the suites have their
own private plunge pools, twenty-two have whirlpools in their
bathroom. All have the benefit of a living room, air-conditioning,
ceiling fans, a phone, mirrors, an ironing board and iron, a
mini bar, hair dryer, wall safe, bath, shower, tea and coffee
making facility and patio or balcony. |

The hotel's reputation for good food, wine and hospitality
starts with breakfast being served by your maid on your patio,
which she has just prepared in her maid's pantry located close
to your suite. Lunch is a casual affair at Jefferson's Beach
Bar and dinner is at Cicely's Restaurant, where Cicely Roberts
and ex-Royal family chef Graham Newbould, prepare a la carte
dishes and daily specials which delight any palate. The award
winning gourmet meals are served by wait staff that pays particular
attention to your every need. While you enjoy the evening meal,
the hotel provides local entertainment for your listening and
dancing pleasure.
For a thirty suite resort, The Calabash has a high ratio of
staff to guests. The eighty plus employees have been well trained
and are very attentive to the guests needs. They all genuinely
want you to enjoy your time at The Calabash. There are non-motorised
watersports on the beach, a fitness room and day and night tennis.
Other facilities include a large guest swimming pool, a boutique,
a TV room (no TV in the rooms), an exchange library, gift shop,
and car rental facilities. This quiet escape attracts mostly
couples and families. A variety of packages including boating,
fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and water-skiing are available.
