The German city of Frankfurt is located in the state of Hesse. The fifth largest city in Germany and the countries financial centre. With its skyline dominated by spectacular skyscrapers you sometimes forget you are in an old European city. One of the best times to visit Frankfurt is during the winter holiday season, Christmas shopping is a must in Frankfurt with Christmas markets and festivals. If you’re not visiting at Christmas however do not fret, shopping along the Zeil and Fressgass is an absolute must. As well as the host of amazing museums, galleries, churches, the fabulous Kaiserdom cathedral and the great mix of bars, pubs, eateries and clubs! The city is bulging with over 3000 restaurants! The cider pubs are great, the perfect place to rest tired legs after a days sightseeing. Being a student city the nightlife is lively and dynamic.
