October 2011 - staying at GRAND HOTEL BONANNO
5 stars! great hotel in excellent location for train stations and airport. hotel was very clean and staff were very helpful would definately stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to PisaSeptember 2011 - staying at ABITALIA TOWER PLAZA
All contact/arrangements with Fleetway generally excellent.Hotel info on your website overall poor.
Ryan Air half hour delay going out and 2hr delay returning, baggage charges silly.
Transfers quotes (£70) v expensive compared with taxi actual E.30
Hotel facilities rooms, pool, etc v. good and reception staff helpful. Hotel concentrates on functions and business conferences - holiday travellers facilities come a poor second.
Restaurant run by catering company not hotel therefore required to pay cash/card separately for all food, drinks etc. V inconvenient when sat by pool on the few occassions poolside service was available. Lunchtime menu restriced to Toasties! Breakfast - good selection. Evening restaurant service and food not bad, but closed 2 nights out of 7 for business/events use. Taxi ride to nearest restaurant. Functions very noisy and late to early hours 3 out of 7 nights.
We chose the hotel because of its pool /gardens as we planned to relax for a couple of days in the sun, but with no lunch available, poor pool service and an events team starting to prepare the pool area at 0930 for events starting at 1830, causing disturbance to guests no apologies or notice to explain either.
No travel or tourist info available to guests (brochures, local bus times etc.
Walk to local rail station/leaning tower easy but poss dangerous at night due to dark underpass, taxi recommended.
Overall a pity as it could be v good hotel, ok as base for touring if you do not require facilities during the day.
September 2011 - staying at VERSILIA
Lovely hotel. Food very nice. Hotel receptionists very helpful. We managed to find our way by bus and train to Pisa, Florence, and Lucca with the timetables the reception staff kindly printed for us. Only drawback - wine very expensive and hotel a long way from any bars etc.July 2011 - staying at TORRETTA HOTEL
The Hotel Torretta is situated a 15 minute pleasant walk from the central square in Montecatini Terme and is a family run business. The room was excellent and sheets changed regularly. We had a small balcony overlooking the excellent swimming pool and hot jacuzzi. We ate an light lunch most days washed down with excellent Vino Bianco Frizzante (12 euro's for a litre). We ate out most night and found some great restaurants, top of the list is La Pecora Nera in the Hotel Ercolini & Savi. A fine dining experience and not too pricey. Lobster Linguine was superb.
Ristirante Corsaro Verde was our most popular. Superb Fillet steak and Veal cutlets, Prosciuto Meleone to die for average price all in with bottle of wine 60 euros.
To see the glitterati of Montecatini go to La Cascina. Wonderful fish soup. A bit more expensive but superb.
The Hotel and service were excellent. score 4.75. Coffee was not good.
June 2011 - staying at ACCADEMIA PALACE
Just came back from Pisa, fantastic place. Hotel was good and clean. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Hotel is not far from the airport. The only problem is there are hardly any public transport. On the first day we waited for the only bus that runs in the area (no:5), for over an hour; got fed up took a taxi. Also the shuttle bus is not free you pay for it but a lot cheaper than a taxi. Not much to say about fleetway except that they are very good.October 2009 - staying at LA GIOCONDA
The historic atmosphere of the hotel is enhanced by a careful restoration highlighting the features of the original structure and comforts, making the hotel one of the best within its category in Florence. This is a modern and refined hotel that welcomes guests in tasteful and elegant rooms where the comforts and exceptional services are carefully planned. This description misrepresents the reality of what is provided. The hotel is quite basic. The carpets on the stairways and corridors are shabby and stained as was the carpet in our room. The overall impression is that of a building which has been neglected for a long time.
The room we had was very small and gloomy. There was one overhead light and one feeble light over the bed which was scarcely adequate for reading. There were no drawers in which to unpack our belongings so we had to live out of our suitcases. The wardrobe was very small with a small assortment of plastic hangers.
On a positive note, the breakfast room was the only pleasant part of the hotel. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is very close to the Duomo.
