Holidays to Verona

Verona is located in Northern Italy and is the provincial capital of Veneto. Lying on the Adige River near Lake Garda, this small, stylish city boasts exclusivity compared to some of the other very busy Italian hotspots with as much, if not more to see and do! With an epic mix of unravelling history, stunning architecture, galleries, museums, fascinating churches and the great outdoors, an ideal place for a cheap holiday and last minute bargains.

Verona is probably most well known as the setting of favourite Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet. One of the top tourist hotspots is the site of Juliet’s balcony at the beautiful Casa di Giulieta which is said to have been the inspiration of Shakespeare’s story. A bronze statue of Juliet stands within the grounds, which is said to be lucky. The old Roman amphitheatre is also a great day out, the third largest in Italy built by the Romans, this spectacular piece of history is the host of the world famous Opera Festival that can be enjoyed during the summer months. With other concerts happening throughout the year too! A visit the old Castle located along Adige River banks is a wonderful chance to see one of the cities best art galleries - Castelvecchio is one of the cities must see attractions.

For travellers looking for a charming old city steeped in history and character Verona is a definite must for a cheap holiday or great package deal. With an endless array of architecture ranging from the Medieval, Renaissance, Romanesque and Gothic eras. Fascinating churches like the Duomo – red and white striped! As well as San Zeno lie side by side with fashion houses and chic jewellery stores and markets in between. Buses and trains are easily available and great value, running between the city and the fabulous Lake Garda. A cheap holiday to Verona really has it all. Lavish in the “be seen in” towns, explore the vineyards and wake up your senses amongst the lemon groves. Rozy’s ring Skate park and the cities water park are great days out if your looking for something more energetic for the day! Don’t forget to take in some of the fantastic local cuisines, boasting a mix of Italian and Alpine favourites, along with many international menus too. Italian wines are at the top of the list when it comes to the regions favourite tipple!
