November 2011 - staying at CEYLAN INTERCONTINENTAL

The hotel was fantastic , perfect location, excellent service , flight was OK as we had 2 kids making noise all the way

November 2011 - staying at DARUSSAADE ISTANBUL HOTEL

After reading all the reviews online, I thought to myself - lets book in to the Darussaade Istanbul Hotel which is in the perfect location. I was there with some friends from the 11th November until the 15th November. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Breakfast is amazing which is served from 07.30 -10.30am, and the guy who assists you is really polite and cheerful.

October 2011 - staying at MELITA

We had a fantastic experience of the Hotel Melita very close to the Aksaray tram station. Our room was on the top floor (a quick, efficient if small lift takes you there) and was really spacious compared to many hotel rooms in far more expensive hotels in France and Spain where we've stayed. The service in every respect from the maids through the breakfast staff to the desk staff was wonderful. Desk staff spoke extremely good English and nothing was too much trouble for them including going out on a special errand to buy me an English adaptor so I could charge camera and phone. Breakfast was simple but plentiful and was conveniently available from 7.00 to 10.30am. The area around the hotel is entirely authentic oldish Istanbul, just outside the 'original' Istanbul and on the edge of the Ordu Caddesi. The maze of narrow streets around the hotel are filled with cafés and lokante where men sit drinking bitter black Turkish tea and playing draughts and backgrammon. Nothing could be further from 'touristic' Istanbul which makes it both interesting and a relief. Plus the tram from Aksaray, a short walk from the hotel, quickly takes you straight to and through the middle of everything a tourist might want to see including the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia, to and over the Galata Bridge (the fish market and fish restaurants there are a must) and on to Kabatas where you can catch a boat to the Princes' Islands. We highly recommend this welcoming, comfortable hotel.

July 2011 - staying at BEST WESTERN SENATOR

Great time in Istanbul - staff were really friendly at this hotel, especially DIDEM. The location is very close to the Grand Bazaar :-) and would stay there again.

May 2011 - staying at THE BYZANTIUM

Dealing with Fleetway over the telephone allowed us to share the experience of the staff and we were guided to an excellent hotel, meeting our group's requirements from location to standard. This really made our 5 day break to Istanbul a total hit.
As an afterthought we booked transfers from the airport - through Fleetway and were able to relax from the the point of arrival when we saw a driver at 'arrivals' with our name clearly written. The vehicle was clean, the driver spoke English and the drive was a safe and pleasant one. Also on our return a driver turned up on time, immediately outside the hotel,so no anxiety or chasing telephone calls necessary. So impressed by Fleetway's ability to 'get it right' for the trip-makers we've gone to them again for our next break. No hesitation recommending them.

October 2010 - staying at MINA HOTEL

Having just returned from staying at the Hotel Mina I was disappointed with the size of the room that three of us were expected to share. One of our party did not even bother to unpack as there was just not enough room and lived out of her suitcase. The third bed was a z bed which was not adequate for an adult bearing in mind that we are all in the age range of 60. We asked Reception for a bigger room but was told that we should not be in our room during the day so it was not a problem. We also asked Reception to sort out our safe that did not happen. The shower over the bath was totally impractical as it was difficult to step into a very high bath to shower. I have a bad back and could barely manage it. It was worse trying to step out of the bath. I actually fell in the bath on one occasion as it was so slippery. On a positive note we got clean towels everyday. After a long wait for a table which was every morning the breakfast was good. No matter what time one went to breakfast there was a queue. At first the staff were not keen on replenishing the food but after the first day they either cooked more or people took less and there was enough to go around. There only ever seemed to be one female member of staff doing everything. I feel this hotel should have been honest with me and suggested that we had a double and single room at a discount and not taken our money and crammed us in to a very small room. Thank you.

June 2010 - staying at AZIYADE HOTEL

The booking with Fleetway went well - except for a problem with the despatch of the Stanstead carparking voucher which necessitated telephone calls and confirmation direct from Fleetway the evening before an early morning departure. All went well in Istanbul - except for confirmation at the end of the stay reagarding the time of pickup for our return transfer to the Airport. An email in midstay was formally acknowledsged but final confirmation only came at the last minute not in accordance with Fleetway's protocol. Since the airport was an hour's journey from the city centre it would have been difficult to organise alternative arrangements at the last minute. We would have welcomed a personal email (as promised) explaining any difficulties the agency was having with the supplier. The hotel kindly contacted the supplier but we feel the agency was remiss. Fleetway should also update its automatic email acknowledgement that did not inspire confidence at a critical moment.

April 2010 - staying at VENERA

Hotel is very good. Clean
Position of hotel is ideal for both business and city break. Has sea view from the restaurant and bar. Staff very helpful. Doing their best to help especially at the ninth floor bar/restaurant. Near metro station and walking distance to the main tourist attraction and grand bazar .. breakfast is good for 4* . not geared for diner only us were half board but staff at the restaurant provided 4 course meals for us every night each night different main dish . we are very much satisfied with this holiday . this is our 2nd booking fleetway travel and we are happy with it

February 2010 - staying at ORIENT EXPRESS HOTEL

Could not fault our holiday, the hotel Orient Express was staffed by very helpful and friendly people. We had a an early flight on the return and a breakfast tray was brought to the room at 5.00pm which was much appreciated. Istanbul is amazing so much to see and take in. We will be returning.
