Boston is one of America’s oldest cities and it has a fascinating history. The famous Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology lie just across the Charles River in Cambridge. This charming town with its bookshops and cafes is well worth a visit, and since revolution days has been known as the "home of the Literati." The pretty villages of New England are also easily accessible from Boston so you might like to head out to the beautiful nature reserve of Crane Beach or the historic towns of Concord or Salem.
