Holidays to Marsa Alam

Tailor-Made Holidays Marsa Alam

Marsa Alam

Marsa Alam, Egypt

Marsa Alam was originally a small fishing village on the west coast of Egypt, but in the past few years it has become a popular tourist resort on Egypt's Red Sea coast. The sudden popularity of Marsa Alam as a travel destination is due in part to the construction of its international airport in 2001, and the subsequent availability of cheap airline tickets. However Marsa Alam's popularity is also attributed to its discovery by scuba divers, who appreciate its unspoilt coral reefs and diverse marine life.

Marsa Alam Holidays

Holidays to Marsa Alam offer world-class scuba-diving with dive sites that are less visited than those of Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh. With cheap tickets and a wide range of Marsa Alam hotels now available, this resort makes a good choice for those who prefer a less developed coastal town on the Red Sea Riviera in Egypt.

Marsa Alam holidays offer the scuba diving visitor a chance to see thousands of species of fish, corals, and even dolphins and hammerhead sharks in warm waters (22 to 29°C) with excellent visibility (30 to 50 metres). If a beach holiday is more to your taste, you'll find plenty to explore around Marsa Alam, with its quiet, sandy beaches often lined with palm trees and dark green mangroves. You could also explore the nearby Emerald Mines, and the Temple of Seti I at Khanais in this little-known but beautiful holiday spot on the Red Sea coast.

The weather in Marsa Alam is fine and sunny all year round. Average temperatures from October to March are around 18 to 35°C and from April to September they range from 20 to 45°C, with the hottest months being July and August.

Marsa Alam's best hotels include a range of five star options, such as the Iberotel Coraya Beach, the Carnelia Beach Resort, and the Sol Y Mar Solitaire. However there is plenty of budget accommodation available if this suits your wallet better!
