February 2012 - staying at MS SENTIDO MAHROUSA
the boat and cabins are very "tired" although clean. The majority of the crew are very pleasant. However, be aware that if you are not going on any of the early morning trips you will not get breakfast! There was a distinct lack of information regarding times of meals, particularly breakfast and lunch which seemed to be moveable feasts. The lack of a rep meant that we had no information regarding the homeward arrangements and consequently were on the wrong coach to the airport. Also, having booked an upper deck cabin, it wasn't available for the first night! This was something of a surprise and although we were told that we would be moved by 9.00 a.m. the following morning it was only the fact that we kept chasing them that we were eventually moved at 11.00 a.m. Not the best start to a holiday. On the plus side there were plenty of sunbeds and plenty of tables and chairs in the shade.June 2011 - staying at MS CHAMPILLION I
WE HAD A GREAT HOLIDAY IN EGYPT, DIDN'T END UP ON THE BOAT THAT WE HAD BOOKED (M/S SUN AZUR) BUT IT WORKED OUT GREAT FOR US BECAUSE WE GOT UPGRADED TO THE CHAMPILLION 1. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE FOOD WAS GREAT, LOCATIONS - AMAZING, STAFF MORE THAN HELPFUL AT ALL TIMES AND FACILITIES BRILLIANT. THE EXCURSIONS ARE DEFINITELY WORTH DOING, BUT THEY ARE TIRING.... SO BE PREPARED. WE HAD A GREAT TOUR GUIDE WHO WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, SO REALLY MADE THE SITES EVEN MORE INTERESTING. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOLIDAY, BUT MAKESURE YOU HAVE TIME ON LAND AFTER THE NILE CRUISE TO RELAX.March 2010 - staying at PRESIDENTIAL NILE CRUISE
For most of the holiday we were extremely happy - great cruise, superb staff on board the M/S Nile Plaza, great tour guide (John) - good food, cabin was fine etc etc... the problems were the following. On being met at the airport we were whisked to pay the visa charge then left to collect luggage, on going through customs there was no one - our initial guide had left us and there were lots of people and all signs of a board with our names on had gone..it took quite a while to locate someone who could help. Eventually we got to the boat and were told that our tour guide would inform us what time we would be picked up...the rest of the cruise was great then on the final morning we spoke to John..who knew nothing nor did Reception who said we needed to speak to our tour operator...we tried Blue Sky who were hopeless and kept passing me to Thomas Cook!!! who then passed me back and I was told to ring an Ahmed Kamal whose number went to music...after 3 hours of trying and waiting for something to happen we gave up and got a taxi to the airport only to be told 20 mins later by some friends on the boat that a taxi had turned up. This was ridiculous - we were left waiting with no information and no one who would / could help. The lack of information was extremely annoying and led us to making our own arrangements - not a good impression of Fleetway / Blue Sky!
I guess a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things and a cost to us of £12 - £13 for a taxi...but thought you should know that arrangements made on your behlaf and sincerely lacking the other end in Egypt.

February 2010 - staying at 5*M-S CHAMPILLION
My husband and l spent a week on the Champollion II 22nd Feb - 1st Mar.On arriving at the airport we were met reasonably quickly with the Fleetway Travel representative, who guided us to the correct desk and ensured we had our travel Visa's. After collecting our luggage we were disturbed that it took nearly an hour and a quarter to locate the representative and be placed upon the correct bus.
On the Champollion we were allocated a room fairly quickly. The staff were very helpful in all instances. The boat itself was clean and tidy but very tired in appearance. This was our third Nile Cruise and from experience we would rate this boat an excellent three star, trying to be a four star. In our opinion this boat/company should not be allowed to advertise this vessel as a five star cruise ship. There were no hairddryers, the minibar we were informed of was a poorly working fridge that was never stocked. The food generally was of reasonable standard but when table service was administered there was no alternate option to the set menu, in fact you were never told what the menu to be served was, if you did not like it there was nothing else.
It was also a surprise to find that as opposed to past cruises the boat was not moored in Luxor but several miles down river. It was awkward when trying to visit Luxor when the boat was moored. It should clearly indicate when booking the cruise that the mooring is not located in Luxor.
We shall definetely be cruising the Nile again, probably September 2010 but will not cruise on this particular vessel again.

February 2010 - staying at HILTON NUWEIBA CORAL
All in all it was a good holiday. However, the food was not good. Lack of choice, lack of salads and surly waiters in the main restaurant. Casa Pesto was a joke - the 'salad' bar being put in the sun at 9.30am and left there all day. The ice around the beans would melt, so they were inedible. Abou Lou Lou also a joke - disgusting food that seemed to come straight from the deep freeze. The diving team were brilliant. Everything else was just about ok.
