Taba, Egypt
Taba is a town in the Gulf of Aqaba on Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera. Its location on the border with Israel and close to Jordan makes it a perfect location for a holiday in the Middle East. Taba holidays attract scuba divers, gamblers, and luxury holiday makers from all over the world, thanks to Taba’s excellent range of dive sites, casino, luxury hotels, and other amenities at Taba Heights. In both Taba and Taba Heights the weather is warm and sunny all year round, so cheap holidays to Taba are always in demand - summer and winter.
Taba holidays and Taba Heights holidays
Taba International Airport (formerly Al Nakb Airport) offers charter flights to London so booking your holidays to Taba is easy. Taba itself is a dusty little border town with few attractions so holidays are usually based at Taba Heights, a resort on the south side of Taba, some 30km from the airport. This is where you'll find a wide range of luxury four and five star hotels such as the Sofitel Taba Heights, the Hyatt Regency Taba Heights, the Marriott Taba Heights, and the Intercontinental Taba Heights. There are lots of attractions in this hidden gem holiday spot, including a championship golf course, the Water World watersports centre, and a wide range of restaurants, shops, and entertainment.
If you're looking for a tourist attraction outside the resort you could take a boat trip from the Taba Heights Marina to Aqaba in Jordan. Popular day trips from Taba Heights include a visit to the nearby faux-medieval Castle Zaman, a snorkelling trip to Farun Island, or a sunset cruise on the sailing boat Henry De Monfreid. If you'd like to explore the Sinai Desert you can go on quad bike safaris through the famous Coloured Canyon, or visit Mount Sinai and the incredible Saint Catherine's Monastery. The highlight of any scuba diver's holiday will be the impressive coral walls at the famous Ras Muhammad dive site where you can see over 250 types of coral, over 1000 species of fish, 40 types of starfish, and perhaps even sea turtles if you're lucky.
