City Breaks to Nice

Nice is the capital of the Cote d’Azur region and is located in the South of France on the Mediterranean Sea. France's fifth largest city, Nice is bursting with things to do. Beaches, shops, bars, restaurants, museums... Definitely something to suit everyone! Enjoying a lovely Mediterranean climate of very hot summers and mild winters. July temperatures can easily be over 30 degrees Celsius. A holiday to Nice can be spent on the pebble beaches or wandering around the tranquil city streets. Or both this city is small enough to easily be explored, and be adventured on foot! There are three main areas to the town, Vieux Nice which is the old town, the port and Cimiez, which is where you will find most the museums and galleries.

A holiday in Nice is great for families, the swimming conditions of the Braie and Anges are great for everyone, diving is also a must here with a fascinating array of Marine life. If it is only sand that will do however pop up the coastline to Antibes, St Tropez or Plage de Pampelonne.
The top place to visit in Nice is the Promenade des Anglais. This is one of the most famous streets in France, oozing with roller-bladers, restaurants, bars and shops! Wander through the Old Towns cobbled lanes. Explore the Old castle ruins or the fabulous Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The Grand Old Villas are also joys in themselves. The nightlife of the Old Town is as diverse as the city itself, enjoy bars that are very popular with young globe trotters to the huge celebrity filled nightclubs! Thor and La Suite are two of the cities best.

Shopping is also a great past time in Nice, the Fifth Avenues of the city are Avenue Jean Medecin, Rue Paradis and Avenue de Verdun. Also be sure to check out the local markets for great souvenirs. The night market in the summer is great for hand made goods. Spend your evenings lazing in the outdoor restaurants, some of the countries best oysters and sea foods are available in Nice. Salade Nicoise is also a definite favourite!

For those wishing to travel further afield take advantage of how close Monaco is, this is a trip of a lifetime! The train des Pignes is also a great day out.
