Mykonos Greece (sometimes spelt Myconos) is an island in the Cyclades which lie in the Aegean Sea south East of mainland Greece. As a travel destination, Mykonos island offers vibrant nightlife, lovely sandy beaches, and great year-round sunshine.

Mykonos is a favourite destination for the international jet-set. The island is renowned for its nightclubs and bars, earning it a reputation as the ultimate Greek party island. Despite its popularity with celebrities, Mykonos is a good place for a cheap holiday abroad for families too. Mykonos Tourist Information and Attractions

The main town on Mykonos is Hora, where the Little Venice area, with its charming overhanging balconies, attracts many visitors. Other tourist attractions on Mykonos include its 16th century windmills, and quaint, pretty churches, including the Church of Panagia. Important historical sites encompass the medieval, dazzling white church of Paraportiani, and the nearby island of Delos, which is one of Greece's most renowned archaeological sites.

Mykonos Beaches

The most popular beach in Mykonos is probably Ornos Beach, where you can also catch boats to many of the other beaches of the island, including Paradise, Super Paradise, Paraga, Elia, Agrari, Platy Yialos (Platyialos, Plati Gialo, or Platys Gialos), and Kalo Livadi.

Platy Yialos is a good family beach with plenty of restaurants and beach umbrellas, but if you'd like a quieter and less developed setting, head for Agia Ana on the West side of the island. Other popular beaches on Mykonos include Agios Stefanos, Psarou, Kalafatis, and Panormos, so if you enjoy a day at the beach, you'll be spoilt for choice.
