July 2011 - staying at PARADISE HOTEL
Superb stay at Hotel Paradise! My husband and I and our 2 friends. What a relaxing holiday, made extra special by the Economou Family. Especially Kostas and Dimitrious, who looked after all of us tirelessly.The hotel is spotless, including the gardens and pool area. The rooms are adequate, all with balconies, equipped with table and chairs and fabulous views. We found the beds to be very comfortable, however, if you are fussy like me take your own pillow, they appeared to be a little hard. (I took my own!)
The breakfast was adequate, do not expect full English breakfast, however, some hot and cold buffet choices and lots of fresh tea and coffee.
Our dining experience was fantastic. The veranda has the most amazing views of both the sea and the mountains and to see the sunset in the evening while eating your meal has got be the icing on the cake! We loved it and only went down to Skiathos Town for 1 evening and this was disappointing after being spoilt by the Economou brothers and their Mums beautifully cooked Greek food.
We used the airport transfer, only 8 Euros (thank you Kostas you are a life saver) and Town transfer. Very useful. We hired a jeep for 6 days and toured just about the whole island and had lots of fun getting lost down the many winding dusty tracks.
The main, easy accessible beaches were very busy this time of year. June would be a better choice of month, less busy and not so hot. The beaches on the west coast are accessible mainly by short cliff walks and are less busy. If you want a fun beach try Vromolimnos, similar beaches would be Koukounaries and Banana Beach . Lots of loud music!
Notes about the hotel. Do not expect boutique, it is basic a Greek hotel, the rooms are 3*. But the food, views, comfort and hospitality are 5* in fact I have never stayed in a hotel and been so relaxed and pampered. It was like staying with your best friends. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Well done Economou Family.
May 2011 - staying at KANAPITSA MARE
We were very impressed with the Kanapitsa mare hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and well appointed with an uninterrupted view of the aegean and neighbouring islands. We both felt the breakfast was good and the hotel facilities and position was excellent. There is an range of transport options nearby as also there are a number of good tavernas. We definitely recommend this hotel and resort for couples and families. We would certainly book again.June 2010 - staying at MORFOS STUDIO

The location of the hotel was excellent and considered one of the most favourable on the island of Skiathos. There was one major disappointment with the hotel and that was the hot food. It was very sub standard and not worthy of a 4* hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and in particular the room was kept to a good standardI booked a room with a sea view and felt that I paid extra for this but we actually only received a view. We were tucked away in the corner and I was sure if I had just applied for a normal room that it would have cost me less. It was expensive with the euro situation and the drinks were very expensive
