November 2011 - staying at TEMPLE BAR HOTEL
WE ARRIVED FAR TO EARLY FOR CHECK IN BUT THE RECEPTIONIST WAS GREAT AND LET US BOOK INTO THE ROOM 4 HRS EARLY REALLY GREAT START TO OUR STAY THE ROOM WAS LOVELY AND THE BREAKFAST GREAT, THE STAFF WERE VERY POLITE AND VERY HELPFUL . I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTELNovember 2011 - staying at NORTH STAR HOTEL
Nice hotel, excellent location and great breakfast! Great value for money.November 2011 - staying at LYNAMS HOTEL
Excellent budget break for people who only require somewhere to put their heads on a night.Hotel was run down with broken window frames, light fittings hanging off their brackets and not working, and metal straps protruding from the top of the radiator(not that the heating was ever on while we were there).
Broken tiles in bathroom and a cistern that takes 30 minutes to fill.
The sound of running water could be heard non stop .
Having said all that ,it did what we wanted and for the price we would go back tomorrow.
August 2011 - staying at DUBLIN CITY INN
I have just returned from 4 fabulous days in Dublin. The hotel suited my needs, it was extremely central and the staff were very helpful and efficient. Fleetway Travel looked after everything for me and even sorted out the online booking in. The price was exceptional and the staff brilliant. I cannot find fault with any detail of this holiday and will definately use Fleetway travel again. I love Dublin and will definately return...soon!August 2011 - staying at REGENCY HOTEL
the hotel was very good and close to towhcenter.the food is very expencsive in dublin
July 2011 - staying at THE BELVEDERE
Having booked 2 months in advance and with a flight arriving at 7:30 in the morning I emailed the hotel to request an early check in if at all possible. I received an email within 24 hours saying it would be taken into consideration.Arriving at 8:25 on a cold and wet Sunday morning the receptionist said "We were full last night so it's unlikely your room is ready", then having checked his computer said "I may have a room for you".
By 8:35 we were making our first cup of coffee in our room. Wonderful service and thank you The Belvedere for that.
The room was clean, smart and had a double and single bed, Ideal for me when the wife snores. Lol.
We booked the 20 Euro meal deal, the evening meal was outstanding and served in good time despite a huge crowd arriving just before us. The following morning the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
That evening we had the meal deal again, as tourists we asked the barman if he could take a picture of us in front of The Belvedere beer pumps, at the time he was pulling me a pint of Guiness. "Have you ever pulled a pint of Guiness?" he asked and before long my picture was taken of me pulling my own pint of Guiness. A picture that will remain for ever and lovely memory. Thanks again. The evening was followed up by another fabulous meal.
We left the following day, after another great breakfast. It has cost us 6 Euros each to get from the airport to the city centre, the reception staff advised that it was 2.30 Euros using the normal bus service and gave us directions to the bus stop. It was a slower journey but showed us other parts of Dublin that we may not have seen otherwise.
My view is that the hotel is on the top side of Dublin, not a short walk from the top of O'Connell street. In a nice quiet area but ideal for exploring the wonders of Dublin. The downside is Grafton street wasn't far enough away from the hotel for the wife to spend to much money.
Fabulous stay at The Belvedere, would recommend it to everybody.
May 2011 - staying at MALDRON CITY WEST
Modern, clean and worth the tariff...staff helpful but not excellent... breakfast not included... Main problem is the distance and no direct public transport.. there is a bus outside the door going into city but you must have exact change.. no change given... we had a hire car and were able to drive about 5klms to a Luas station, to travel into city....Also no shampoo or hair conditioner supplied in bathroom despite asking concierge... most difficult when one has long hair and cannot pull a comb through the hair after washing with supplied shower gel/soap/bodywash/shampoo "all-in-one"... i.e. hair shampoo and conditioner were confiscated at Gatwick airport on flying out...
Long way from airport when first arriving... traffic busy of course...
