County Kerry is located in the extreme south west of the Republic of Ireland. One of the main features of Kerry is its contrasting landscape of mountains and plains. For all walking and cycling enthusiasts this is a must visit, this dynamic town is home to three famous lakes and beautiful mountains. The scenery is simply stunning. Whilst you’re in the Killarney national park, make sure you visit Muckross house. This stately home is fully restored to its natural beauty – you can even act as a servant in the basement! Ireland’s highest mountain is in fact in County Kerry – Carrantuohill which stands at an impressive 3414 feet. Walking tours are easily available and well worth it, trails are also well mapped out for those that don’t want to be with a group. Along the coast dip your toes into the warm shores off of Kerry’s sandy beaches lined with stunning cliffs and rocks. The Brandon Art Gallery is the home to stunning oil paintings, truly capturing Kerry’s beauty.
The tralee Aqua Dome is one of Kerry’s best attractions. This indoor water park is great for kids and adults! If it has to be the outdoors, Rossbeigh beach is located in Kerry and is said to be the best in Ireland. Thanks to the Gulf Stream the Atlantic Ocean isn’t even that cold! Enjoy fresh fish brought in from the sea at the counties top restaurants, Nick Seafood and Kate Killney’s Cottage are well worth visiting and If your looking for an after dinner drink be sure to ask for Guinness at Kerry’s charming pubs, Tatler Jacks and The small bridge come highly recommended.
