The capital of Sardinia is Cagliari where you’ll find the beautiful Poetto Beach, a thirteen kilometre pristine beach famed for its sugary white sands. Cagliari has an interesting history, with attractions including the Necropolis of Pantalica, where some of the tombs date back to the thirteenth century BC, and the ancient Roman Amphitheatre carved into a block of rock, where you can enjoy open-air music concerts in the summer.

Other interesting places to visit during your holiday on Sardinia include the nature reserves at Monte Arcosu or Maidopis where you might spot Sardinian deer and wild boar, and the lovely Maddalena Beach. At Sassari, the second biggest town in Sardinia, you can see the eighteenth century Ducal Palace - the church of Santa Maria di Bètlem, and Cathedral of St. Nicholas of Bari, both of which date back to the thirteenth century.
