Cheap Tangier Holidays

The City of Tangier, Morocco

With its interesting mix of history, culture, and terrain, Tangier (or ‘Tangiers’ as it’s often referred to) is an ideal destination for a holiday in Morocco. The city lies on the North African coast at the western entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the warm Mediterranean Sea meets the cool Atlantic Ocean.

If it’s a beach holiday you’re after, Tangier tourism has it all: camel rides, windsurfing, acrobatics, and football can all be enjoyed on the beautiful beaches. Deck chairs, showers, and food and drink are also available, and at night Tangier’s beaches become home to vibrant and joyful cabarets.
A variety of accommodation is on offer in Tangier with most of the hotels concentrated in the Medina (old town) area and in Ville Nouvelle. Cheap hotels in Tangiers are readily available, as is cheap travel from the UK, offering a vacation in Morocco to suit most budgets.

Also known as the ‘White City,’ the main focus of Tangier is its port where the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean meet and many millionaires moor their yachts. Another popular spot to stroll to from your hotel is the Place de France, a small square lined with cafes in the middle of the Ville Nouvelle

In the heart of the city of tangier is the ‘Grand Socco’ market square, where you can people-watch at one of the street cafes, or hunt for bargains in the market which sells everything from fruit and vegetables to art and crafts and second-hand trinkets.
Surrounding the Grand Socco are the Mendoubia Gardens, a good place to find some shade on a hot summer afternoon and home to a magnificent 800-year-old banyan tree.
A little further afield, about 14km west of Tangier, are the ‘Caves of Hercules’, a place of stunning natural beauty and great archaeological significance.

Al though it has a number of late night bars and discos Tangier, is not really for those in search of a lively nightlife. But there are many cafes and restaurants, and for those hoping to have a cheap holiday there are several basic inexpensive restaurants in the Medina.

Whether you call it Tangier or Tangiers, Morocco is an affordable holiday destination. Contact us on 0871 472 8880 for more information on cheap holidays and flight tickets.
