Customer reviews of Madeira

May 2012 - staying at ENOTEL LIDO

Our holiday was organised very well with Fleetway Travel with good flight information and good private transfers.. The hotel left quite a lot to be desired as the dining was very poor with regard to selection and quality of food and also there was no dress code at evening meals and no table service. You would expect more from a five star restaurant and hotel.

October 2011 - staying at SANTA CATARINA HOTEL

Pleasant enough hotel but NO WAY should it be classed as 4 star! Breakfast is a shambles. I cannot imagine how unbearable it would be during summer months with no air conditioning in bedrooms and if you like a bath in brown water then this is the place for you!!!!

September 2011 - staying at MADEIRA PANARAMICO HOTEL

Perfect holiday from beginning to end. Flight was on time. Collection at Funchal Airport and transfer was brilliant. The hotel was definetly 4* nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Plenty of selection at the breakfast buffet. We preferred eating in the alacarte restaurant in the evening, the food was fantastic. Courtesy bus provided to and from Funchal. The hotel is quiet, nothing much to do at night with some entertainment, but it suited us. Would return again.

October 2011 - staying at VILA GALE SANTA CRUZ

We had a fantastic time, the hotel was very clean, the food and drink was excellent. The outdoor pool was a little cold, and the hotel charges 11 euros to use the indoor pool for the day, which could get quite expensive with a large group, however we spent most of the holiday out and about so for us this wasn't a concern. All in all it was a lovely holiday, thank you Fleetway. Also Darren Hilton at the Fleetway booking office was very helpful and made booking with you very easy.

October 2011 - staying at DORISA ESTRELICIA

I would like to thank Fleetway Travel for your attention to detail regarding our recent holiday to Madeira. The holiday went so smoothly from getting to the airport, the transfers, courier, the hotel was excellent. However the hotel is not near a beach as there are no beaches on Madeira! in the description the first line says "beach location" which is on your advertisement! so initially dissapointed but soon forgotten as its such a lovely island.

So I thank you all very much and will book again with yourselves.

September 2011 - staying at PESTANA BAY OCEAN

The hotel was in a lovely location close to the sea with stunning views. All the staff were very friendly, and the food was good. Rooms were very clean. The pool and bar areas were excellent. The only downside to this hotel was the lack of air conditioning throughout. This made it very uncomfortable at meal times and at night in the room. The fan in the room was not adequate to cool the room down after being in the sun all day. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel and recommend it to others.

September 2011 - staying at PESTANA PROMENADE

The hotel was in a good location, the amenities in the hotel were very good. However, we found the food awful. Having paid for 1/2 board - we only at in the restaurant 3 out of 7 evenings as the food was quite unpalatable and not what we expected for a 4* hotel. There was only the 1 restaurant. The 'pool bar' did offer a selection of foods for lunch but we found the food not very good. Whilst the breakfast was passable - the selection on offer (ie: no freshly cooked eggs - they were all batch cooked) was limited. I'm not sure I'd stay there again purely on the food.

August 2011 - staying at 4*ENOTEL BAIA

Really enjoyed the holiday. Beautiful place, beautiful resort, good hotel. The hotel was not quite as good as advertised - WIFI was not available in the hotel and the exercise room/gym was not operational - but it was very nice all the same. The village was very quiet and relaxing. It was great having a car as well because it made exploring the island so much easier. I'd definitely go again.

August 2011 - staying at MADEIRA PANORAMICO

All went well and had a lovely holiday. We would travel with Fleetway Travel again. Very impressed.

July 2011 - staying at PESTANA VILLAGE APARTHOTE

Wonderful place to stay for a holiday. Beautiful gardens, clean, well furnished rooms. Weather was great during our visit and no troublesome mosquitoes, fly s etc just beautiful butterflys.Food was great and staff very helpful.
We visited Monte by cable car and went down on a basket ride.Took a trip on the Santa Maria de Colombo where we got to sample complimentary Maderia wine and honey cake whilst viewing Pilot whales and dolphins.
The Levada walks are also a great adventure( few toilet stops though!)The valley of the nuns is also another lovely excursion where you can sample products made from chestnuts that they harvest there. We sat down and ate roasted chestnuts on a roof top terrace with the sun shining down on us, an early christmas treat!!!
Funchal was also fun to explore we always walked but there were ample of buses to catch if you wish. If you're into Art there is a whole road in the old quarter of town that has doors painted as art work, fantastic to see!
We would definitely recommend Maderia and the Pestana Village.
