October 2011 - staying at ALGARB HOTEL
Hotel was okay and on beach. Good budget hotel but walls paper thin on room and could get noisy later at night. Got a room with a side sea view which was a nice. Food okay. Resort very quiet as winding down for closure. Would have preferred to have stayed in Figarates on reflection but had a great chill out week.October 2011 - staying at CLUB HOTEL ELS PINS
We enjoyed the hotel, which offers free wine and water with the evening meal. Being the end of the season, the catering deteriorated for the last few days. The rooms and the service are uniformly good.October 2011 - staying at MARE NOSTRUM HO
was very impressed with flight out and return even though we had to divert to stansted on outbound leg for safety reason.....now was not impressed with hotel,,especially cooking of food...food was always LUKE warm so was like eating cold..not very healthy to apoint i spent from monday pm to tue pm in bed being sick and diahorrea and after talking to other guest found out there had been other cases of the same thing..and due to this i found it very hard to eat and drink hardly anything the rest of week..upset stomach everytime i ate or drank...i think you relly need to look into this if you are going to continue to send guests there as i herd this was a common scenario at this hotel..all other aspects of hotel i found to be ok within reason...as for booking with fleetway travel i found it very smooth and swift and would consider using again and would recommendOctober 2011 - staying at SOL PINET PLAYA HOTEL
We thought overall the hotel is very well maintained, very clean and spacious, the choice of food was very good, and only a small complaint, is that we found the meals although delicious and well cooked did not keep hot in the serving dishes, so the meals from the hot cooked section were just warm. The staff were all pleasant, and the rooms very spacious, with a large bathroom.
Our room was on the fifth floor facing east, with fabulous views of the bay.
The location was amazing, and I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
I will definitely book with Fleetway Travel again.
September 2011 - staying at TORRES HOSTAL (SAN ANTONI
Torres was really good if you are looking for a basic holiday hotel staff were friendly was slightly disappointed by the fact that the pool was broken and struggled to use anybody elses in the area. No fridge or kettle was provided but fresh towels daily.August 2011 - staying at BARCELO PUEBLO IBIZA HOTE
This was our third trip to Ibiza but first stay in the Barcelo Pueblo. I travelled with my partner and son (ages 39, 41 and 11). We arrived at 7.15pm and were greeted by a friendly young man on reception who immediately welcomed us and asked if we’d had a good flight. Check in was efficient and our room was in block 5 on the ground floor. The room was spotless and spacious and the bathroom was too with nice white towels and a full bottle of shower and hair gel (although we didn’t use it). The air conditioning was fully controllable 24 hours and we had a fan, although that was a little noisy to have on in the night. The guests were very diverse with varying nationalities and ages (couples, families, and young people) but it was a friendly and lively atmosphere. The entertainment team were excellent and there was always at least one activity going on during the day either in or out of the pool and these included kids and adults and sometimes the staff too! There are three pools which are all very clean and warm. The main pool and pool near the snack bar and sports area had very comfortable sun loungers whereas the lower pool had standard plastic ones. There were plenty for everyone and yes people put towels out early morning but that’s what goes on in these places! The hotel did not enforce any restrictions around this. The food was plentiful, nice and varied. My only criticism around the food is that it wasn’t always very hot. Drinks were served in plastic cups during the day and in glasses at night and there was always a waitress walking around collecting the empties and tidying up. The drinks themselves were also good, I’m a Baileys lover and their brand was awesome (the measures were generous too!) and the beer for men was good old San Miguel. The entertainment was outside at night but there weren’t enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone and so quite a few people sat around the main pool on loungers. The bar staff were friendly and the queue for drinks was never more than four or five people, there were always at least two serving. The hotel grounds were well kept and again very clean and tidy. The evening entertainment was fairly standard, some guest participation and some professional acts. Whatever it was, there was always a large audience. The all inclusive finishes at 11pm which seems early as other places we’ve stayed it’s been midnight. However, we found that the early finish got us to bed earlier and up earlier so we had longer days without being so tired! There are a few shops, bars and restaurants just outside of the hotel and the beach is a very short walk down the road. The beach is nice and so is the sea, there are a few reeds on the sea bed which put me off but it was very calm and safe for children. We spent a lot of the time wishing our friends were with us and are already looking to book with them for next year.August 2011 - staying at MARCONFORT EL GRECO

September 2011 - staying at CLUB MONTERREY APARTHOTEL
It wasn't a plush hotel but it was comfortable, the staff were great and very helpful, in a nice quiet place 5 minutes walk down hill to main resort. San Antonio bay is a very nice resort with a short ferry ride to the night life of San Antonio, not for the faint hearted! Last visited Ibiza 23 years ago it has been re-vamped and is a really nice place to either relax or have fun there is something for all ages. I will go backSeptember 2011 - staying at SOL IBIZA HOTEL
I am writing this on the fly, so when i have a spare minute I make a quick note which i feel accurately reflects what i see. First impressions, very nice friendly greeting by the reception staff . We sent an email ahead requesting a pool/sea view room and we got one. It's worth sending because you might end up looking over the car park which is a shame. The lobby area looks warm and cosy. It's lemon with brown furniture. It looks a bit corporatey, that's not a word, but you know what I mean. All my comments are subjective and are compared against RIU hotels of a similar star rating which I am very familiar with.
The rooms are very well appointed, a good size with a nice balcony. The safe is free and easily accessible and to use. Unlike in RIU hotels. The AC worked well and was very quiet. There were plenty of spare power points to charge your electronic items. The colour theme of the room was shades of brown. Some other guests had reported on Trip Advisor that the rooms were poorly sound proofed. To he honest i was a bit lucky, sometimes i could hear the family in the adjacent room talking but most of the time it was quiet.
The pool and surrounding area is nice but lacking imagination and therefore a bit boring to look at. However the view of the sea and rocky coastline more than makes up for the dull pool area. Empty sun beds were sometimes a little thin on the ground but we always got some eventually. You can get pool towels free with a 10 euro deposit. Getting hold of one is another thing, they were like the proverbial rocking horse dodo, however after a little persistence and patience i got some. One more thing the pool appeared heated, nice touch. Sorry that was a bit of a sarcastic dig at RIU pools, the RIU pools are usually bloody freezing.
The dining room is very traditional, it's colour theme is x shades of, you've guessed it, brown. The food looked and tasted fresh, wholesome with a fair amount of choice. The choice of meats on our first night was chicken, fried breast or roasted 1/4 chicken, pork, rabbit, veal, trout, tuna and some steamed White fish. Plenty of choice there. Hot Vegetables were thin on the ground but the salad looked ok. Sweets were about as inspiring as jelly and ice cream at a children's birthday party. They did have a speciality desert dish but when the ice cream is provided in a small tub that a kiddy would enjoy it kind of lost it's appeal. The second night seemed better with a little more choice and imagination. Over the rest of the week the standard of the food remained pretty much the same. The coffee is much better than the ghastly offering that all the RIU hotels provide. Although the coffee comes from a machine it is palatable. Overall I would say that the food was very nice but not as nice as RIU. In summary about the food I think that the best analogy I could say is that RIU hotels have a chef and this hotel has a cook. The food lacked that bit of umph.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, there uniforms were different shades of, try guess, er brown. Does the owners have a colour fetish or did they get a job lot from the local market, hmm.
Star rating out of 5
Pool area **** (because of the view)
Restaurant ***+
Staff ***** (excellent)
Service****
overall ****
As a comparison I think that the RIU hotels of the same rating are a bit classier but I would give them both about the same rating overall rating because each of them had their stronger points.
Would I come to this hotel again, yes absolutely I would. It's position is quiet with a fantastic view of the coastline. Also it is just a short walk to the Marina and shops. If your bag is ear splitting night clubs and foam parties then you are in for a huge disappointment. In summary I have used words like cosy and wholesome which are not exciting but having said that the overall experience was very enjoyable. There were no children which makes it a little quieter than I preferred and the age groups were approximately as follows:
60+ 10%
50- 60 35%
40-50 35%
20-40 20%
I have attempted to be impartial and give you a warts and all opinion from an average Jo who knows what's he likes and accepts that things are never perfect. I say it as I see it and it takes a lot to go wrong for me to complain.
August 2011 - staying at CALAS DE IBIZA APARTMENTS
Well its not the Ritz but we were happy with the apartment. Yes it had seen better days and a little redecoration would improve it no end. Our balcony had a great outlook over the beach and bay and we enjoyed watching all the water based activities as well as the ships. The pool was well kept and not crowded and there were plenty of sunbeds. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionists spoke very good english. We were aware of some noise when clubbers returned late but it was rare to be disturbed. The location is excellent with bars, restaurants and entertainment within a few paces of the hotel. Plenty of shops for food and drink, the nearest was next door. We would not hesitate to go back!
