June 2011 - staying at RADISSON BLU RESORT
What a fantastic time.. Ofcourse only at 50% due to political uprisings (revolution) about 500km away, we truly had a great time. An absolute haven of tranquility. Flight to Djerba just over a couple of hours from London, same time zone and short (cheap) taxi ride to hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great rooms. Great breakfast. Excellent facilities. Athenee thalasso truly amazing. Highly recommended and we will be returning for a short stints in the future, probably on a regular basis - no more Barcelona.
October 2010 - staying at VINCCI DJERBA
Nice hotel, friendly staff, friendly locals! English is not spoken by many there, main language seems to be french and arabic. Spent a lot of time doing sign language with people. But its a get away from the typical british filled holiday resorts. Mainly european people abd familys, so a nice clean environment without the noise of typical holiday makers out to party hard. To sum it up I'd call it an unspoilt holiday destination. Great buffet as we went all inclusive.
August 2010 - staying at IBEROSTAR SAFIRA PALMS
My daughter who is 14 and I visited Safira Palms for a week. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the service they provided was really good, the entertainment was varied and fun, the food was pretty good, although being vegetarian there wasn't as much choice, but we did not go hungry! We appeared to be the only English people visiting and in fact several of the staff mentioned that they very rarely needed to speak in English. We didn't venture out of the hotel much because of our short stay, but the weather put us off sight-seeing anyway as we basked in 38 to 40 degree heat. A slight annoyance was the hogging of sun loungers by other guests. This went in our favour the first day when we sat on a bench near the 'Animation' entertainment team, whom we made friends with, and subsequently my daughter was asked to appear in one of their shows.
