August 2011 - staying at CARIBBEAN WORLD MAHDIA

Travelled with 3 teenagers for a family holiday, and was very happy. we booked for Tunisia earlier in the year and had a few reservations after the troubles but we saw no evidence of anything, other than helpful and friendly locals both on and off the complex.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with towels changed and rooms cleaned regularly. The animation team were well motivated and offered a different show each evening even if on a similar theme!

The restaurent was clean and the food was always well presented and in plentiful supply even if slightly repetative, we didn't find any mealtime when there wasn't something to enjoy.

The Quad biking excusion is recommended, real fun......

This is the 2nd Caribbean World Resort I visited in 12 months and have no problem in recommending this as a good value for money holiday

October 2010 - staying at CARIBBEAB WORLD RESORT

bought a cheap last week of sunshine! great place friendly staff. the accomodation was very clean and well furnished, the food whilst might not to English taste was plentyful and of a good quality, especially the open cook whilst you wait pasta bar. even for one of the last weeks of the season the resort was well kept there were things going on. Have to say they were closing the complex around us to a degree, leaving only one bar open in the evenings, which perhaps wasn't to the taste of all ..... suited us though!

we did a couple of the excursions camel ride, quads and the pirate ship and enjoyed them all (the priate party is alcohol free!!!)

havinf read reports of this complex before we went we were nearly put off BUT have to say the negative ones were very exagerated and we are glad we went and would have NO issue in recommending this resort to anyone , and hope to go back next year for some more although maybe September as the weather was probably just past it's best!

thanks to all at Borj Cedria had a great holiday!

September 2010 - staying at HOUDA SKANES MONASTIR

Don`t book a transfer as it is just across from the airport ( the planes take off away from hotel then gain height before flying over it thus you have very little if any noise) and a taxi would probably only cost 4 dinar ( around £2). Hotel was clean the room we had was better than the one we had booked. The food was very average using very cheap bony cuts of meat and a lot of recycled dishes were offered. Breakfast and the pizzas at the pool bar were the best items on offer. The reception staff were very efficient, the bar staff were mixed in attitude and as for the waiting staff in the restaurant - it appeared to be too much effort to bring us a drink with our meal, only on three occasions did we manage to get a refill. there are a few basic flaws which would be so easy to remedy and make your stay better. The pool man kept the pool spotless and was helpful with the sunbeds/mattresses. If you want a basic holiday and sunshine its OK.

September 2010 - staying at KURIAT PALACE

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Kuriat Palace. The hotel was obviously once a very grand hotel and, although a bit dated and tired looking now, still has many impressive features. The staff, in general, were very helpful. There was a bit of a language barrier, the hotel was mainly made up of French and German visitors, and some of the Reception staff did not speak very good English though the entertainments staff were fluent in about 4 or 5 different languages. We went bed and breakfast which was okay though must say I would not have been particularly happy with the selection of food had we have gone fully inclusive. The neighbouring hotel's restaurants had a far better selection of food. I'd been to Tunisia before so knew what to expect but if you haven't, don't go there thinking it will be like Turkey or Spain. You can't just walk out and walk to a string of bars with Sky TV, and papers, when you do get English papers, are generally at least 3 days old. All in all though it was a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and good value for money. The Tunisian people are very friendly and helpful.

August 2010 - staying at MONASTIR CENTER

hotel not a 4* more like a 3* should not be listed as a 4* very dated and tired looking hotel transfer times 3 times longer than stated on your web site very misleading also paid for a private transfer but did not get one . staff at hotel very friendly would not recommend this hotel until it has had complete make over

May 2010 - staying at 4*MONASTIR CENTRE

Nice, relaxing one weeks all inc holiday. Hotel well situated by beach and town centre - both on the door step. Food good and lots of choice, decor a little tired, but being updated. Wouldn't go again though, as impossible to 'shop' without being hassled, or locals being down right rude when you don't go into their shop, or cannot agree a price and refuse a sale. Was also 'conned' by a guy who appeared to be friendly, and then demanded money for telling us in bad English that where we were standing (next to the beach) was a place of historical importance! Didn't feel safe to leave the hotel after dark, so stayed in most nights drinking the very nice all inc bar cocktails! Enjoyed a camel riding excursion and galleon trip with belly dancer!

September 2009 - staying at EL HABIB HOTEL

We spent 7 nights at the El Habib hotel in Monastir. We flew B.A which took just under 3 hours. A vegetarian sandwich and tea and coffe were served on the flight which was a pleasant surprise. The journey from Tunis airport took 2 @ 1/2 hours during which time we dropped off other passengers in Sousse and Hammamet. we arrived at our hotel at 11PM. The reception staff were welcoming and provided a salad meal which was gratefully received.

Our en suite room was spacious and comfortable. It was serviced daily by a pleasant helpful lady. The hair dryer wasn't working and when we informed reception of this it was promptly replaced by a new one.

The food was excellent, varied, plentiful and tasty. All drinks including tea coffee and water had to be purchaced as we were half board, for this reason I would recommend the 'all inclusive' option.

The El Habib hotel resort is undergoing refurbishment and extension of its facilities. There are two pool areas one with flumes. Plenty of deck chairs and pool side catering by way of a snack bar and drinks bar.
The private beach across the road from the hotel is lovely and manned by a very pleasant and friendly hotel employee.
we took a horse and cart ride around the old walled city of Medina and saw many wonderful sites including the museum and the gold casket of the president together with other interesting artefacts.
The markets were numerous, colourful and a fun place to 'shop' and barter.
We were lucky that our trip coinsided with the end of Ramadan and the festival of Eid.
Tunisian people were friendly and proud of their country's many charms and interesting things on offer to tourists.

The weather was wonderful. Towels for the poolside, safe deposit key, internet access and Wii were all available at a price.

I would recommend this holiday without hesitation.

August 2009 - staying at MONASTIR CENTRE HOTEL

the hotel was fine the food was ok but it was the same meals most days and sometimes were cold which we were disappointed with and had to go out for a pizza a few times. there wasnt many english staying there at the time we was. the entertainment at night was the same every night and all in german italian dutch etc. after the first 3 nights this got very boring, and there was nothing any where near the hotel for us to do or go. our boat trip was cancelled due to rough seas but that could't be helped, we got as far as on the boat twice then it was cancelled.

August 2009 - staying at 4* MONASTIR CENTER

When we arrived at the hotel Monestair Centre told us that there was no room availble for us untill the Saturday lunch time, we arrived friday 14th August at 19.15 hr. We had to stay in a apartment 5 min walk from the hotel which was not very comfortable. I told my rep this when we met with him on the saturday morning. The management was'nt very friendly. THe entertainment staff and bar staff was very helpful. The food was ok on some days, very little choice in all inclusive drinks. The pool was good, room was ok but no air conditioning even after 3 times of reporting it to the reception. The hotel is very much German and Dutch clientel. The hotel does not change their local currency back to sterling money but does every other exchange of currency. They would take sterling for exchange of the local currency. I will not be recomending this hotel to other people
