Customer reviews of Port El Kantaoui

November 2011 - staying at EL MOURADI PALM MARINA

Had a lovely holiday.
The hotel was very nice and in a good location, but the rooms were a little tired.
All of the staff in the hotel were brilliant and very friendly.
The choice of food was very repetative and left overs from the night before were re-used and served for lunch/dinner the next day.

We got a bit annoyed with the locals who were wanting to sell you things when you were laid on the beach or by the pool. They were very pushy and some times quite aggressive. They should not be allowed in the resort as the hotel should respect the customers privacy and that they want to relax.

Overall though a good holiday.

September 2011 - staying at VINCCI EL KANTAOUI

Excellent hotel! Very clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend : ).

September 2011 - staying at 3* SOVIVA RESORT

we enjoyed our holiday very much, the hotel was great lots of lovely surroundings ie gardens - walkways, the pool area was lovely lots of space & plenty of sunbeds, the entertainment at night & in the pool during the day was exellant lots of variety.. friendly staff the lady on reception was very helpful and spoke very good english..... just a few niggles but nothing to spoil our holiday........

June 2011 - staying at EL MOURADI SALIM3

My stay at the El Mouradi Club Selima was 99% perfect!! Why is this hotel such a hidden treasure to the Engllish? The only downside was the lack of kinsfolk, not for myself, but my children found it hard to make friends when they were the only English speaking children on the complex. Saying that, they are already asking when we can go back. The staff were marvelous and so so friendly!! I consider myself to be quite a fussy eater and I found the food to be lovely. Some of the evening entertainment was hit and miss, but was being delivered in four or five different languages (the Russians and Germans found it hilarious!!). Already looking at this hotel for our summer holiday this year.

May 2011 - staying at EL MOURADI PALM MARINA

This not a 5 star hotel but do not let that put you off going, the food was good and varied and plentiful, the staff without exception were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day with clean sheets, pillowcases and towels daily. The location is fabulous, right on the beach but if you are not a beach lover the pool is fantastic. The rooms are a bit tired looking and the corridors are dingy but for the time you spend in them it is not an issue.Once the staff realise you are english you will be treated like royalty,i believe this is because a lot of Russians use this hotel and all appear to have left what manners if they possess at home and treat the staff like dirt.We will return to this hotel as soon as we can, probably September.

December 2010 - staying at MARHABA PALACE

On arival, the hotel staff were very proffesional and courtious. They even changes our room as we wanted a room facing the pools. Not that there was anything wrong with the first room, its just that it was facing the front of the hotel. We stayed over Christmas and the hotel staff put on a fantastic cocktail drinks spread for all the guests. Alchoholic for those who wanted and non for those who didn't. The entertainment was good considering the time of year, it was the winter season for them and therefore quieter. The spa / massage part of the hotel was excellent, well worth the price and the profesionalism of the massages and facials were very good. Food overall was very good and they even put on a special christmas meal on christmas eve. Don't go near the souk / madina in Sousse. It was the worst experience of my life. I have been in many souks, however, we were pulled and jostleled, the prices were well over what you can but in the "supermarkets" and the treatment of the tourists ruined the whole experience of the Arab souk. Again, don't go near the place if you want to enjoy your holiday. We took a trip to Tunis the capital and visited Carthage, which was a great trip. We jouned the Thomas cook trip for that. The guide was excellent and really took his time and gave us from the wealth of knowledge he had to offer, he knew his bussiness. Weather was around 26 to 28 degrees c for the first few days and then got a bit cloudy. Evenings are chilly. We will certainly be back to Tunisia and most probably to The Marhaba Palace Hotel too.

September 2010 - staying at SINDBAD CENTRE APARTHOTEL

The hotel is nothing like it was portrayed online. Rooms were dirty, we had to change rooms because of uncleanliness. The Food was disgusting, thats if they had the ingredients. I could not have a cheese sandwich because they had run out of cheese, I couldn't have a pannini or a burger because they had run out of ingredients. There were no porters to help with luggage to room which was up steep stairs to get to the lift to go to the actual room, which wasn't stated in the write up for the hotel. We suggest you inform people with breathing or walking problems that there are an enormous amount of stairs to negotiate. The lift was broken for a week, from Monday 4th October and still wasn't fixed when we left on the 10th, so consequently there 6 (six) flights of stairs to climb. The air conditioning wasn't working which was horrendous at night. The Fleetway rep did all he could to help. Mrs Irene Stubbings

September 2010 - staying at EMIRA

Tunisia is truly a magic experience! Good food and friendly people. We went on the Sahara excursion (2 days by coach to see the sunset in Sahara, The Salt lake, oasis, the amphitheatre in El Jem, the Red Lizard train through the Atlas mountains, see how the people live in caves etc) it was an amazing excursion with good guides.
The hotel was nice, for food gourmet we recommend to eat out though as the hotel food as else where isn't anything special. A good restaurant (about 10 min walk from the hotel), where the service is fabulous too is "Time out". It's a lovely little place.
The hotel staff was friendly and the rooms clean. Nice pool and free bus to the beach which is only a few minutes away.
The animation team of the hotel was friendly but the shows a bit poor.
Regarding shopping... Avoid places without price tags as they're rally trying to overprice everything. The Medina is cute to look at but very much hassle and push in there. Better of buying souveniers at the airport as things there are much cheaper!

We are very happy with our holiday and would very much like to go back one day. Tunisia is a fabulous country!
Hope this review has been helpful:)

September 2010 - staying at EL MOURADI PALM MARINA 5*

5star maybe when first built. Disappointed with the El Mouradi, we were expecting more. Compared with the 5star in Egypt booked with Fleetway last year there was no comparison. I would have preferred a Rui hotel in Port el Kantaoui.

August 2010 - staying at MARHABA PALACE

Hotel well positioneed and generally very good, food good staff very attentive. The bedrooms are a little run down and there seems to be a lack of maintenance. Lights very loosw on walls, lights not working, the shower holder would not hold the shower, some days we where left without towels,, no sopap provided in the bedroom and the patio door would not lock.
