February 2012 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY
THE FOOD AT THE RAMADA LIBERTY WAS VERY POOR. THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM WERE EXTREMELY GOOD AND FRIENDLY. WEATHER GREATNovember 2011 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY
First time visiting Tunisia so wasn't too sure of what to expect. Hotel was nice, had a lovely swimming pool and outdoor area. However the hotel rooms were quite outdated, in comparison to how the rest of the hotel looked (downstairs, reception area etc). The TV is quite outdated, as its the old box TV, bed was quite small, although after a day or 2 it grows on you.Hotel staff, firstly staff who work at reception, very dismissive, bar staff and restaurant staff much more friendly, and the maids. Reception staff are a big let down to the rest of the staff. They gave me and my husband wrong departure information, then when brought this to their attention, they did not apologise for their mistake, instead looked at us as if why are we even bringing this up.
Food was not my cup of tea, then again I am not adventurous with food, but breakfast was good.
All in all, nice hotel, 4 star..not sure? Reception staff, need to learn how to provide decent customer service.
October 2010 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY RESORT
We arrived at the hotel at 00.40 and the hotel reception staff were polite and very helpful, taking bags from us immediately, and within 5 minutes we were in our room, but as we arrived so early, we asked for water and they were able to give us a bottle straight away from behind reception. The room was very clean, the air conditioning worked immediatly, but you must remember to shut all doors and window other wise it won't work, as we found out lol, the only disappointing part about this room was we asked for a pool view and balcony and we had a garden wall to look at instead, and a over looked balcony from above which people above seemed to think was a good idea to drop all ash and cigerette ends in to ours, you could not fault the room apart from that, bathroom was cleaned every day and the shower was excellent, as good as any power shower in the uk.
The pool was super, as were the staff working in the pool area, polite and helpful, the food in the restaurant, there was always plenty available, and a large variety, drinks were available at all time, although we did buy our own wine, as the free wine was not to our taste, but there were no complaints, coffee and soft drinks were available from all bars and restaurants at all times of the day.
The beach was well within walking distance, 5 minutes maximum, it was very clean, staff were always on hand if you needed anything, and you could book at the reception for you meal in the beach restaurant if required, the beach bar was very clean, and so were the toilets, and i must say i was surprised to find a shower in the toilets at the beach if you wanted to use it, the only thing that did get on your nerves were the flys!!!
Taxis were available from outside the hotel, at very reasonable rates and very reliable, the best thing to do is haggle the price and ask at reception what they advise on the rough price so you don't over pay (we found the best thing to do was arrange a pick up with the driver and pay on return, this is usually a guarantee they will be there to pick you up) they are right in suggesting a pick up time, if they say you would only be 2 hours in town, thats how long it takes to walk around.
If you do not like haggeling then it is best to stick to the supermarket gift shops, and the taxi drivers will point them out to you.
The weather was perfect, we had only 1 afternoon of rain, but we did go in October, but when the sun was out it was hot!
Would we go here again, then yes definately, but we would have to remember to take a fly swat!
August 2010 - staying at SAADIA HOTEL
Very friendly staff, had a great time; food and drink wasnt to our taste as quite limited on variety, but found a cheap Mexican 5 mins walk up the road which we went to most nights. Probably not the best hotel for children, quite out of the way, private beach was very nice, although alcoholic drinks weren't free of charge here but soft drinks were, bit disappointing as paid for all inclusive. The British Bar sells proper Vodka, but very expensive, so your best buying your favourite drink at the airport!! We had a really nice time (young couple), as we wanted to be in the sun, and relax, which is what we did, but the nightlife was a little disappointing.August 2010 - staying at KURIAT PALACE
We had a lovely time at Kuriat Palace. It's next to the airport but hardly any noise, right on the beach but mainly stayed by the pool. Very funny entertainment - caberet style! Pool activities all through the day. Need to get taxis everywhere but cheap if you're good at haggling!March 2010 - staying at ROYAL MIRAMAR THALASSO
hotel good, just needs a little bit of tlc. food fab, really enjoyed itMarch 2010 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY RESORT
Good location for trips to Hammet/Nebule/Sousse/Port al Kantaoui/Monastir marina (we hired a car to Hammet - but the rest there are taxis and buses running right outside the hotel gates to take you places). Beach is only a minutes walk away too.Hotel - first impression OMG this is not a 4 star, foyer/ communal areas/resturant/clubs are fine... Rooms need updating. But they are clean and basic. We had a good enjoyable break all the hotel resort staff and entertainment crew are lovely.
We were given a twin room at the front of the hotel with a balcony with a sea view.
Good fun and very relaxing, safe and people are lovely - good retirement holiday, as it's full of over 65's/Families, though we went out of season so maybe a different crowd during peak season when all the Hotels are open.
December 2009 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY RESORT
Great hotel. People were complaining about the food but I saw nothing wrong and certainly didnt go hungry! The beds could have been a bit comfier but thats just a personal opinon. It is a very money orientated place though so i would say beware! Am going to book to go back next year! Weather fantastic!December 2009 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY HOTEL
This hotel was all in all excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious- a huge selection. It catered for all ages and tastes.Entertainment in the winter is limited but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday sunbathing by the pool this hotel is recommended.
Weather at this time of year is hot to most Europeans and therefore we would recommend that the hotel has the barbecue going and the outside bar shutters open.
