April 2012 - staying at RESIDENCE DE CHARME DAR H

Tunisia is a lovely country with a fair bit to do if u don't mind doing small tours or day trips. weather in april can be a bit hit or miss so bring a few warmer clothes just in case a bit breezy. if staying in Hammemet, make sure to stay in yasmin hammamet, as this is the newer area with places to go etc. haggling is expected and needed. beware of people saying remember me from your hotel, as will say follow me and expect to be tipped. do go south to sahara and have a proper camel ride. do go to a market day. quad biking is fun. sidi bou siad, beautiful seaside village. have fun and ask fellow travellers what they have got up to.

March 2012 - staying at VINCCI TAJ SULTAN

The hotel was ok but not a 5* it was really tired, could do with an overhaul. I did have a bad experience, I feel a bit silly as I fell for an english speaking chap named Sammi, he said he would take us around to show us the sights, when in fact we only saw a ceramics factory of which we all bought something, then we ended up at a carpet place where a lady was making a carpet, anyway my friend and I bought a carpet each and it cost us 800 dinas, he assured us the money would not be taken from our account for 4/5 weeks. When we told the rep, he was concerned and told the hotel manager who investigated the company, we were assured we would receive out carpets and the money would not be taken from our accounts, incidently the price included shipping etc., On arriving home I checked my credit card account, and yes the money had been taken. I contacted the credit card people and they said they could only help if the carpet does not arrive. I feel I have been taken for a ride. I do think you should warn your clients. If my carpet dose arrive and it is the same quality that I have seen I will be relieved, I do have to wait for at least 6/7 weeks.

March 2012 - staying at RAMADA LIBERTY HOTEL

The hotel was quite nice as can be but the food & the level of customer services was quite bad & found it abhorrent with consistent people harrassing us all the time. I will not recommend Skanes as a holiday resort as there's nothing to do & we had wait 4 hrs before our transfers turned up. Glad to be back home!!

Nice hotel. Good facilities, and good range of food. Pillows were hard.

March 2012 - staying at VINCCI TAJ SULTAN

It was ok but the Hotel was a bit tired, perhaps it was a 5 star but I'm afraid not any more. Our room was fine, bedding and towels changed every day, nice view and comfortable. The staff were pleasant but hardly any one new English, I realise that Tunisian and French was their main language but I know they did their best. We would have enjoyed it more if they hadn't kept hasseling so much. I cant say we would ever go back to Tunisia but would prefer to book a holiday with a rep to show us the ropes and tours. There was a rep but we only saw him a couple of times, I believe he was from Thomas Cook.

March 2012 - staying at IBEROSTAR SAPHIR PALACE

Tunisia air seemed to be very disorganised! We had long delays both leaving UK and on our return with no explanation or guidance. Departure gates were incorrect and you were just left sitting wondering what was going on. The hotel was very well situated and faultless from service and food. Our only complaint, which was beyond anyone's control was with the weather. I do think that when tourists are expected in a resort that it should be "Open" for business as clearly it was not. As tourism is down by 75% they really need to address this situation in future.

February 2012 - staying at VINCCI TAJ SULTAN

The hotel was visited by baliffs on the first day of the holiday.all computers were taken and fighting between staff and baliffs left a lot to be desired. The hotel had no money available to get foriegn currency changed meaning we had to use outside facilities when we could as other hotels would not change money. The food was very poor most of the time with a couple of exceptions.there was no entertainment until the last two days of our holiday. We complained to the manager who did nothing and were unable to contact your rep which left us no formal line of complaint as your literature states all complaints must be lodged before departure. On the whole your service was extremely good however the holiday was ruined by the hotel.

February 2012 - staying at EL MOURADI SKANES

Hotel and staff very good.The food for a 4 star hotel was the worst we have ever come across, we werent good enough to have 4 star food.
I would actually give this hotel 2 stars. This group has several hotels in Tunisia I belive but you would never get me in any of them again. Orange jucie was more like orange squash disgusting. Go to breakfast no large plates I asked for bigger ones everyday. It was quite a joke. Overall the holiday was fine, nothing to do with you.

January 2012 - staying at VINCCI TAJ SULTAN

Hotel was very impressive and the staff were first class, the only thing that let it down was the food. The standard was very low and the food not very warm, I'm very surprised that I didn't have an upset stomach during my stay. At the moment would recommend this hotel to anyone.

January 2012 - staying at IBEROSTAR SAPHIR PALACE

The hotel was amazing and I would really love to stay there again. The service and staff are amazing, every single last one of them...apart from just ONE chef who worked on breakfast but never ever smiled or anything. But this hotel is a highly recommended place..,watch out for the little shop owners tho loool I suggest u shop in the supermarkets or suvonirs, they r much cheaper, I promise!
