One of the largest cities on the coast, Antalya's focal point is its harbour with winding back streets that lead to the old city. About 12km to the east of Antalya is Lara Beach, a popular stretch of sand.

Side (pronounced sea-day) is built on a headland with several beaches to either side. It boasts bars, lokantas,watersports, modern shops, clubs and discos alongside the relics of the past - including two second century temples and an amphitheatre. These ruins are close to the resort centre, with its bustling streets where there are bargains to be found. Accommodation is situated both in Side itself and along the coastline stretching from the town in each direction.

Kemer combines the cosmopolitan atmosphere of its attractive marina with the more traditional Turkish cafes and lokantas that line the beach. There are two beaches: the public beach, pebbly with lots of watersports and boat trips, and 'Moonlight Beach', a mixture of sand and shingle.Wander around the many shops, bars and restaurants, or stroll around the marina, where you can sit back with a cool drink, admiring the yachts.
