The City of Tangier, Morocco
With its interesting mix of history, culture, and terrain, Tangier (or 'Tangiers' as it's often referred to) is an ideal destination for a holiday in Morocco. The city lies on the North African coast at the western entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the warm Mediterranean Sea meets the cool Atlantic Ocean.

Surrounding the Grand Socco are the Mendoubia Gardens, a good place to find some shade on a hot summer afternoon and home to a magnificent 800-year-old banyan tree.
A little further afield, about 14km west of Tangier, are the 'Caves of Hercules', a place of stunning natural beauty and great archaeological significance.
Al though it has a number of late night bars and discos Tangier, is not really for those in search of a lively nightlife. But there are many cafes and restaurants, and for those hoping to have a cheap holiday there are several basic inexpensive restaurants in the Medina.
