Vietnam has emerged from past centuries as a modern state where old traditions are very much kept alive in both the blossoming cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as in the villages and towns along the Tonkin Bay. In the north you can explore the mountainous beauty of Sapa or head to the coast to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay, and definitely don’t miss out on seeing the Vietnamese capital Hanoi. The south of the country is a place where the mighty Mekong River flows into the sea and the great Ho Chi Minh City remains constantly awake. Next on the agenda is Cambodia’s Siem Reap, which is located in the northwest area of the country. Siem Reap boasts a thriving contemporary art scene and classic architecture, but still is a hub of tourist entertainment thanks to the world-class dining and diverse nightlife – but no trip is complete without a visit to the incredible Angkor Wat temple. Your last stop is Phuket, Thailand’s largest island and is nothing less than a tropical paradise in more ways than one. Phuket is covered by lush rainforests and fringed by powder-soft beaches, and is a hub for partygoers, foodies, relaxation lovers and adventure seekers. Patong is an area made famous by the notorious Bangla Road while the low-key regions of Kata and Karon boast beautiful beaches and are home to some of the best sunsets on the islands.
