Found in the beating heart of downtown Havana, the NH Capri Havana is a wonderful four-star hotel that really ingratiates guests with the Cuban way of life, while still providing all the luxurious comforts you would expect from a top-range hotel. As well as offering lots of culture within walking distance, the hotel is found just a 10-minute drive from Old Havana – the capital’s most vibrant part of the city.
One of the NH Capri’s undoubted crown jewels is its outdoor pool, which is located on the top floor – giving panoramic views of the city. The hotel has a well-appointed gym for guests wanting to work out, as well as a sauna and Turkish bath if you’d rather relax. There are two restaurants found at the hotel, offering a mix of local and international cuisine, and there are a further two bars. Other services include a barber, massage area, laundry service, and even car rental if you want to explore the further reaches of Cuba.
As the capital of Cuba, Havana has a vibrant mix of culture and history readily available to introduce to visitors. The city has survived two wars of independence, a revolution, and US trade embargo, yet is still here to tell its story. This turbulent yet fascinating history is easily viewed through the stunning architecture in places like the colonial square and virtually every street in Old Havana. The narrow streets offer dozens of quaint shops selling unique souvenirs and of course, hand-rolled Cuban cigars. Must-see sights in the old town include the Museum of the Revolution, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the gorgeous interiors of Nuestra Senora de la Merced. The ocean boulevard of the Malecón offers gorgeously sun-bleached buildings and traditional fishing boats – showing a different side to the city. Outside of strolling through its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, and cafés, renting a bike and pedalling through the city is one of the most direct ways to get beneath the skin of Havana.
