Travel Opinions

  • Lapland hotel Ounasvaara Chalets - Great experience!!

We arrived midday at our chalets and experienced a very warm welcome from the gentleman at reception. It was like stepping into a Christmas card with the red and green chalets doted among the snow laden trees. The chalets which were self catering were warm and comfortable with their own sauna. There are ski facilities adjacent to the hotel. You can get a taxi into town for around 10 euro as the bus service is practically non-existent. If you go to Ounasvaara chalets I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did.

  • Arctic Snow Hotels & Glass Igloos - Wonderful experience

This place is truly special to me. Firstly, staying in a glass igloo watching those stars at night is truly wonderful. Secondly, getting to experience a hotel made completely out of snow and ice is like none other, and also dining in the ice restaurant with plates made of ice is also another unique experience. We also get to try the snow sauna and outdoor jacuzzi which was a little crazy but totally fun! And finally I got to witness the most breathtaking northern lights I've ever seen while staying there.

Don't just take our word for it...

Overview

This 3-night Lapland experience introduces you to the best this amazing area has to offer - with stays at two unique hotels, daily breakfast, and all travel included. Your first hotel will be Lapland Hotel Ounasvaara, where you’ll stay in a quaint chalet that is indicative of the area – giving you a cosy two-night stay. From here, you’ll be transferred to the Arctic Snow Hotel for a one-night stay. Here, you’ll stay in a unique snow room*, where the furniture and fixtures are all made from snow and ice – ensuring you’ll have a night you’ll never forget.

Those wanting to pack in as much to their Lapland experience as possible will find an additional opportunity to explore the wilderness by snowmobile with two hours of high-octane exploration. Additionally, those wanting to upgrade their room at the Arctic Snow Hotel can opt for a glass igloo stay. These rooms are distinctively shaped like igloos and feature glass walls so you can take in the amazing views around you, and if you’re lucky, perhaps even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
