Travel Opinions

  • Shearwater Village - Highly recommended

This was a great place to stay. Conveniently located. Good rooms, clean and comfortable. Staff really friendly and helpful. Suitable for guests aged 50+. Pool welcoming. Safe and secure. Highly recommended.

  • River View Lodge - Three days in Botswana

My friend and I loved the River View Lodge because it was very small and cozy, right on the Chobe river. Despite its size, they had everything you would want, a small restaurant and bar, a nice little pool and a lovely outdoor sitting area to watch the sunset.

The staff, Candy, Connie, MD, Rudo, Shirgi and Theresa were fantastic. They were so warm and friendly, helping us make arrangements for our activities and transportation. The food was very good, two or three choices off a menu for meals.

Great job River View Lodge! I would recommend your hotel to anyone who doesn’t want to deal with crowds of people at a large fancy resort. Thanks!

Don't just take our word for it...

Zimbabwe + Botswana

Take in the splendour of Africa with this amazing twin country holiday to both Zimbabwe and Botswana. Two under-visited African destinations, much of both countries have an unspoiled beauty to them. You’ll spend four nights in Zimbabwe with daily breakfast included, at either Shearwater Village or Cresta Sprayview, depending on your day of departure. After this, you’ll spend three days in Botswana on a full-board basis at the four-star River View Lodge, with an included game drive and even a cruise.

During your time in Zimbabwe, you’ll stay in Victoria Falls, one of the most stunning spots in the whole country. Home to the eponymous Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world, you’ll have easy access to this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site. Moving onto Botswana and the beautiful town of Kasane – your stay here includes a game drive in Chobe National Park, as well as a cruise down the Chobe River.

Please note a double entry visa is required and is not included. This can be purchased at the airport in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Found on the southern bank of the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls is a Zimbabwean town found very close to the large waterfalls of the same name. Unsurprisingly, these world’s-largest waterfalls are the main draw to a stay here and they have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989. The falls’ native name is Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning ‘The Smoke that Thunders’, and it offers incredible vistas from all around, as well as rafting for those adrenalin junkies visiting.

Kasane, Botswana

A gorgeous town in unspoiled Botswana, Kasane represents the striking natural beauty found in many African countries, largely due to the fact of its location – a meeting point of four different countries in Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. With direct access to the two major rivers of the Zambezi and the Chobe, it’s certainly a stunning place to visit. The Chobe National Park offers guests a great opportunity to tick off a game drive off their bucket lists, seeing such animals as lions, elephants, raptors, a wide array of bird species, and hippos.

Shearwater’s Explorers Village

Found in the gorgeous hub of Victoria Falls, Shearwater’s Explorers Village is a cosy and convenient hotel for your stay in Zimbabwe. Found just a 100 yards away from Elephant’s Walk Shopping & Artist Village, it’s easy to get a taste for the beautiful local surroundings. The hotel also offers bicycle rental, meaning you can explore as much as you want to on your own timetable. There is a large outdoor pool at Shearwater’s, as well as free Wi-Fi, a well-stocked buffet breakfast, and of course, great connections to the nearby UNESCO-listed waterfalls at Victoria Falls – simply ask the well-informed staff for any guidance you may need.

Cresta Sprayview

Cresta Sprayview is a convenient hotel found just outside of Victoria Falls, complete with great facilities, a wonderful location, and everything you need for an unforgettable Zimbabwe holiday. Room are modern with such amenities as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary universal plugs. The hotel has an outdoor pool, as well as a poolside restaurant, and two bars offering both drinks and snacks throughout the day. The well-informed staff at the front desk can help you book bungee jumping, white-water rafting, and river cruises, as well as give guidance on any other local information you may need.

River View Lodge

Found on the gorgeous banks of the Chobe River in Kasana, the River View Lodge has an idyllic location in Botswana, surrounded by manicured gardens and possessing stunning views. The tastefully appointed rooms and chalets have wonderful features like private verandas, spacious en-suites, and air conditioning throughout. The on-site restaurant covers all of your meals here, including an afternoon tea option when you’re peckish between lunch and dinner. It’s a great place to stay due to its proximity to Chobe National Park, and river cruises are also incredibly easy to organise with a little help from the friendly, informed staff. The hotel also as an outdoor pool, copious sun loungers to relax upon, and bicycle rental when you want to explore the local area.
