Vietnam Land of the Blue Dragon and Cambodia

Vietnam & Cambodia

Vietnam is developing at an astonishing pace and is a nation going places fast. The country is rich in Culture and history coming together from diverse influences that have presided over the country and its people for thousands of years. Vietnam is renowned worldwide for its magnificent natural beauty, friendly and inquisitive people and its delicious food, as well as it's emerald-green mountains, ravishing coastline, breathtaking national parks and dynamic cities such as Ho Chi Minh City in the south and it's capital Hanoi in the north. Vietnam is a treasure trove of memories. Its geography, man-made monuments and structures are supplemented by the positive attitude of the Vietnamese people themselves, creating an inspiring and captivating atmosphere for visitors and a holiday never to be forgotten.

Situated on the Indochinese peninsula and bordered by Thailand and Laos, Cambodia is a Southeast Asian gem characterised by majestic waterfalls, inspiring temples, and magical jungles. The mighty Khmer empire is still present throughout the region, particularly through the temples of Angkor, while the urban scene thrives in the likes of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

Siem Reap is located in northwest Cambodia, and the name of the city literally means Siamese defeated, referring to the victory of the Khmer Empire over the army of the Thai kingdom in the 17th century. Siem Reap doesn’t shy away from the thriving contemporary art scene and classic French architecture, but still is a hub of tourist entertainment thanks to the world-class dining and diverse nightlife – but no trip is complete without a visit to the incredible Angkor Wat temple. Additionally, Phnom Penh conjures up images of the exotic, and was once called the ‘Pearl of Asia’. The Cambodian capital sits at the junction of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap rivers and is the most populous city in the country. The ornate Royal Palace is the main attraction, boasting a Khmer architectural style and is the royal residence of the king of Cambodia.
